Role Summary/Purpose:

The SVP, DV&L Platform Analytics role is responsible for leading the development of analytics solutions to drive a transformational customer and client experience for the Diversified Value & Lifestyle platforms, and partners in those industries. The leader will combine deep knowledge of financial services, the retail industry, and advanced analytics to optimize decision making, significantly influence business strategy, and further engage retail customers. The role focuses primarily on B2C and B2B Marketing, Sales, and Retailer Analytics, as well as partnering with Credit and Finance functions. This will involve guiding customer analytics, diagnostics, segmentation, forecasting, reporting, and other activities related to improving business performance at the platform and portfolio level. This role will report directly to the SVP, Analytics.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Define the analytics strategy for the DV&L platforms, ensuring that analytics and data-driven decision making is integrated into both the platform as well as the senior leadership team’s agenda on a consistent and measurable basis
  • Develop an analytics agenda that leverages knowledge of the industry, 3rd party data sources, the latest analytics tools and techniques to drive profitable growth for the platform and our partners
  • Interface with partners as analytics expert and thought leader to engage in use of analytics solutions for their business and Synchrony business
  • Leverage deep understanding of the Retail landscape to help to define and execute the go-to-market analytics support strategy for the platform and the partners’ analytics requirements
  • Develop and maintain excellent working relationships with all internal and key stakeholders, including Marketing, Sales, Credit, and IT
  • Partner with credit, finance, and marketing to leverage behavioral signals and customer models to optimize profitable growth in decision making, in balance with Synchrony’s credit risk appetite
  • Being a strategic thought leader and partner to the Platform senior leadership team, including helping to evaluate benefits and impacts of business priorities, products, and capabilities
  • Work cross functionally with central analytics teams to support the creation and integration of unique analytics capabilities into the platform
  • Help lead the implementation of critical experiences in analytics to support career development within in the function
  • Promote a positive team culture and inclusive hybrid working environment as a senior leader in the analytics team
  • Perform other duties and/or special projects as assigned

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree, or 12 years of progressive work experience in data analytics
  • Minimum of 10 years of data analytics leadership experience in financial services, banking, technology, healthcare, and/or retail industries
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience leading a team in the analytics field

Desired Characteristics

  • Advanced degree/MBA preferred
  • Financial Services, Retail, ecommerce or advanced marketing analytics Industry experience
  • Excellent people leadership skills and a proven track record of developing high potential talent and delivering results
  • Strategic thinker with strong judgment and business sense; ability to influence at the highest levels of organizations
  • Deep and broad knowledge/understanding of the unsecured lending market and how analytics tools and techniques can drive business strategy
  • Ability to simplify complex data sources into a holistic improved customer experience through data insights and analysis
  • Strong understanding of profit and loss dynamics in the cards, unsecured lending and business and retail industry
  • Knowledge of external Regulatory and Compliance Requirements
  • In-depth knowledge of how own function integrates within the business and of direct competitors (products/services)
  • Experience in Analytics leadership roles, preferably with responsibility for multiple analytics functions
  • Strong executive presence and communication
  • Experience influencing internal and external senior decision-makers
  • Excellent change management skills
  • Self-starter, high motivation and ability to work well independently as well as motivate and energize teams

Grade/Level: 15

The salary range for this position is 200,000.00 - 330,000.00 USD Annual. This position is also eligible for an Annual Incentive Plan target of 25% of salary and an Annual Equity target of 25% of salary.

Actual compensation offered within the posted salary range will be based upon work experience, skill level or knowledge.

Salaries are adjusted according to market in CA, NY Metro and Seattle.

Eligibility Requirements

  • You must be 18 years or older
  • You must have a high school diploma or equivalent
  • You must be willing to take a drug test, submit to a background investigation and submit fingerprints as part of the onboarding process
  • You must be able to satisfy the requirements of Section 19 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act.
  • New hires (Level 4-7) must have 9 months of continuous service with the company before they are eligible to post on other roles. Once this new hire time in position requirement is met, the associate will have a minimum 6 months’ time in position before they can post for future non-exempt roles. Employees, level 8 or greater, must have at least 18 months’ time in position before they can post. All internal employees must consistently meet performance expectations and have approval from your manager to post (or the approval of your manager and HR if you don’t meet the time in position or performance expectations).
