Job Summary
Parkhurst Dining and BardEATS (Education, Advocacy, Transparency, Sustainability) is looking for a student committed to improving food systems on campus to act as student chair. Interested students should be ready to take on a leadership role in the BardEATS council composed of students, faculty and staff. The Sustainability Intern will assist on advancing campus wide sustainability initiatives. Potential responsibilities may include designing campus campaigns in collaboration with the social media intern, increasing transparency of food systems on campus, designing and implementing structures to build relationships between students and food service staff.
Summary Of Essential Job Functions
Actively participate and become a member of BardEATS and work closely with Parkhurst Dining and the Sustainability Office.
Work closely with the Parkhurst management team by calling out standard operating procedures that could be adjusted to be more environmentally friendly.
Actively promote food waste reduction and compostable collection for all dining facilities.
Work on converting all on-the-go packaging to compostable alternatives
Organizing and facilitating BardEATS meetings.
Oversee and provide support for all BardEATS programs and interns.
Collect and develop a BardEATS factsheet.
Assist with organizing and communicating local and sustainable luncheons or dinners as part of the sustainable development goals integration.
