Survey Services Lead

WBS, a subsidiary of WEC Energy Group, is seeking a Survey Services Lead in our Green Bay, Wisconsin location.

Job Summary

Demonstrate and provide leadership qualities consistent with company guidelines and department expectations in the discipline of surveying for the surveying group. Responsible for all of surveying services and consultation to support regulated, non-regulated business units as well as external customers within budgets and scope by utilizing surveying skills and knowledge along with technical expertise, interpersonal skills and applied leadership skills.

Job Responsibilities

• Demonstrate and provide leadership qualities consistent with company guidelines and department expectations in the discipline of surveying for the surveying group.
• Responsible for all of surveying services and consultation to support regulated, non-regulated business units as well as external customers within budgets and scope by utilizing surveying skills and knowledge along with technical expertise, interpersonal skills and applied leadership skills.
• Responsible for developing and recommending solutions and skills to surveying issues and problems that present themselves in the process of supporting the engineering, designing, development implementation and/or construction of a project.
• Assists with surveying fieldwork when necessary.
• Responsible for development and implementation of project scope-of-work pertaining to surveying, survey cost estimates, documentation of survey work performed, compliance to state and local law pertaining to surveying principles and accepted practices.
• Responsible for mapping and drafting of land boundary descriptions for parcel exchanges and easement/permit acquisitions. Manages Survey Contractors.
• Establish, execute and communicate operational goals that effectively achieve the Corporate Strategy and Accounting & Finance Business Plan. Lead change management processes within Accounting and Finance department.
• Develop workgroup benchstrength by supporting and modeling an environment and expectation of continuous growth and development through effective use of talent management tools, processes, and resources.
• Promotes survey services and competencies to internal and external customers.
• Investigates and reviews new equipment, procedures and governmental legislation pertaining to surveying.
  
  
  

Minimum Qualifications

• High School Diploma, HSED, or GED
• 3+ years supervising experience
• 3+ years Formal or informal leadership, coaching and developing others
• 5+ years Survey instrumentation and accepted surveying practices
• 5+ years Survey software applications
• WI Land Surveyor License required. May also require certifcation in other states as applicable based on assigned duties/location.
