Responsibilities
Commit to following safety procedures.
Review project plans, specifications, manuals, technical publications, and associated project documents to acquire working knowledge of said documents prior to work occurring.
Maintain detailed records of project activities.
Perform mathematical functions to review contractor compliance with standards and calculated quantities.
Confirm that materials and workmanship comply with project requirements.
Promote successful project outcomes.
Document quantities and work completed on a daily basis.
Document as-built conditions.
Assist with the preparation of project close out documentation and project audits.
Qualifications
Ability to read and interpret plans and specifications.
Associate degree (or higher) in civil technology and/or construction management, or a construction background and knowledge of this field.
Ability to think critically.
Ability to be honest, fair, and exercise responsibilities with firmness and good nature.
Skills in interpersonal and public relations, including active listening.
Good verbal and written communication skills
Desirable software skills: Microsoft Office Suite, Appia, Doc Express, and AutoCAD Civil3D.
Valid driver’s license and a willingness to travel out of town for projects and work outside.
Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
Iowa DOT materials certifications are preferred but may be obtained after hire.
Survey experience is a plus.
