General Purpose
Assists Engineering Liaison and Surveyor Liaison in a general support role with a primary focus of PA One call responsibilities.
Work Objective
This position involves support and assistance with Township obligations for Pennsylvania One Call ticket response, curbing and sidewalk installation and street excavation inspection, mapping, drafting and records research, interface with other township and state departments and agencies and other administrative work as may be necessary.

Works under the supervision of the Bureau Chief of Planning, Zoning and Development.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Support the Surveying Assistant with all duties related to PA One call response including but not limited to records research, response through the one call site and field markings of facilities, meet with utility representatives as necessary
Support the Surveying Assistant with all duties related to Curb and Sidewalk permits, installation and inspection*
Support the Surveying Assistant with street opening permits and inspections that are conducted in-house
Coordinate with Public Works department when necessary
Reviews applications for curb and sidewalk and street excavation permits and calculates fees for same based upon township fee schedule, recommends issuance, conditional issuance or denial of same
Receive and investigate complaints regarding street excavations, curbing and/or sidewalk issues
Assist public works with implementation of curb and sidewalk program including CDBG project work when applicable
Assist in maintenance of storm drainage, streetlight, easement and street system maps, plats, data bases, and master plans
Performs a variety of office related functions, including maintaining and filing map plan records, preparing correspondence, maps, presentation materials, brochures, copying and printing materials, answering phones, and responding to inquiries from contractors, developers, property owners, other township departments and the general public.
Education And Experience
Graduation from a high school or GED
Minimum two years related experience, or
Bachelor's degree in geography, drafting, surveying, planning or related field with experience in Computer Aided Design Drafting (CADD) ARCview GIS systems, cartography, urban design.
Any equivalent combination of education and experience
Necessary Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
Some knowledge of urban design principles, practices and methods as applicable in a municipal setting, some knowledge of applicable township and state laws
Considerable knowledge of drafting and design techniques and GIS systems and software
Ability to work with formulas and calculate fees and reimbursement amounts
Excellent verbal and written communication skills

(C) Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software including the ability to create spreadsheets, and correspondence in Word.
