Supply Planner

Our high-growth, mission-driven, CPG food client is seeking a Supply Planner with 3-5 years of experience with consumer brands. As a small company with an ambitious mission, they believe in teamwork, entrepreneurial thinking, creativity, tenacity, and making nutritious food more accessible to everyone. This role will own supply planning, production planning, inventory planning, and relationships with distribution centers. In the near future, this role will also own demand planning.


This role is remote with limited travel to co-mans and warehouses (4-8 trips per year). Candidates must reside in the continental United States to be considered for this role.


About the Position: The Supply Planner is responsible for supporting the company's demand plan by ensuring the supply of product and quality coming from an external co-packing network.


Areas of responsibility: capacity planning, vendor management, S&OP, production scheduling, and inventory management


About You:

  • 3+ years of experience in a Supply Chain role within the food or other CPG-branded products
  • Detail oriented with strong analytical, and organizational skills
  • Ability to accurately and efficiently maintain data in systems
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel skills
  • Ability to work independently and with a team in a fast-paced environment
  • Able to review large quantities of data to identify trends.
  • Previous experience with inventory management / ERP system (Netsuite preferred)
  • Proficient in MS Word, Google Suite or similar computer software systems
  • Experience with food, manufacturing, & CPG is a requirement
  • Strong multi-functional intuition for business and ability to analyze data
  • Poised and professional when interacting with internal and external contacts
  • 4-year college degree or equivalent experience


Major Responsibilities

  • Manage external co-packing network to ensure all finished goods can be produced in order to support target inventory levels and customer service levels
  • Complete analysis of current co-packing network including total long-term capacity, efficiency, and cost and give recommendations on supplier selection.
  • Manage rolling 6-12 month supply plan and lead quarterly business review process with all co-packers
  • Support the process of integrating externally manufactured products into the S&OP process.
  • Monitor key KPIs including customer service (Unit Fill Rate), inventory (safety stock), and co-packer performance (production vs plan) resolution or scenario planning. This includes the ability to apply the planning systems to gather the key data needed to drive business decisions.
  • Support Supply Chain Coordinator on inventory management, meeting targets set for safety stock. Provide recommendations on how to minimize slow-moving inventory.
  • Support the Operations initiatives including cost-reduction opportunities
  • Support month-end close support using Accounting / ERP system
  • Support other duties and projects assigned as needed
