Supply Chain Planner

Hybrid in Itasca Illinois/Surrounding Chicagoland Area

Position Summary:

This is a support role within PECO Pallet's Supply Chain Function. The role is responsible for communicating, deploying, and managing the Inventory and Production Planning business process.

This role serves as Tactical and Operational process support for the production and inventory of monthly SOIP processes. It requires supply chain and production planning skills and cross-functional work with multiple departments.

The preferred candidate is a Supply Chain and Logistics Professional with past planning responsibilities in Supply Chain Planning and Logistics roles within the reusable packaging or asset-pooling space. In addition, the individual should have an entrepreneurial mindset in carrying out their position responsibilities. 

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Gather, document, and analyze qualitative and quantitative inventory data.
• Provide recommendations on the company’s network inventory balance and production targets within monthly, weekly, and daily planning buckets.
• Facilitate weekly and daily inventory planning calls with Operational and Service departments to meet inventory and service metrics.
• Monitor Key Performance Indicators within Inventory, Transportation, Service, Warehousing, and Production business units. 
• Analyze, develop, and coordinate intra-month supply trade-offs from forecast and production error to hedge against inventory and service risk while maintaining adequate inventory levels at all facilities. 
• Support monthly SOIP process by leading and supporting production targets and capacity planning sub-processes. 
• Support seasonal inventory storage location management: onboarding, maintenance, and offboarding. 
• Support backlog and past-due load reconciliation. 
• Support lane compliance tracking and reconciliation.
• Ad-hoc inventory-focused projects.
• Supported Sr. Manager, Inventory and Production, Sr. Analyst, and Supply Chain to drive continuous improvement efforts to improve performance on all key metrics, including service targets and network inventory levels.

Key Competencies:

• Advanced Microsoft Office skills (Excel critical role)
• Proficient understanding of Capacity and Inventory Balance Planning
• Proficient knowledge of inventory transactions
• Proficient Tactical and Operational Communication
• Intermediate understanding of SOIP/S&OP
• Intermediate understanding of the reusable packaging industry and asset-pooling operations
• Basic understanding of Transportation Planning
• Basic knowledge of Demand Planning
• Basic understanding of operational cost strategy
• CPG industry and pallet industry, reverse logistics, SQL Databases, and PowerBI understanding is a plus

Qualifications and Credentials: 

• BA/BS w/major in Supply Chain Management, Warehousing, Logistics, Finance, Data Science
• 1-3 years of Supply Chain experience preferred
• CSCP/CPIM/CPM is a plus
• LEAN/Six Sigma credentials are a plus

Environment/Physical Demands: 

• 20% In-Person, 80% Remote after onboarding
• Need to participate in conference calls off-hours and occasionally weekends (role interacts with individuals from multiple time zones)

Travel:

• Up to 15% 
• Travel can vary within given parts of the year based on project activities and business needs.
