Mine Vision Systems (MVS) is dedicated to providing advanced workflow-integrated perception and automation systems which improve speed, safety and productivity for the mining industry. We are a spinout from Carnegie Mellon University’s National Robotics Engineering Center, and are located in Pittsburgh’s East Liberty neighborhood. Following the successful product launch of our FaceCapture™ Mapping System, we are in a growth mode and we are seeking a Supply Chain & Operations Engineer to join our team.

As a MVS Supply Chain & Operations Engineer you will be responsible for managing the logistics of sourcing components, moving and tracking the state of our products to and from our customers around the world.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Working with engineers conducting RCAs on product returns and providing recommendations for and/or implementing any needed remediations
  • Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to manage production planning and system delivery needs to customers
  • Manage shipping logistics of products to and from customers around the world
  • Work in step with our Tech Services team on supporting customer service requests
  • Manage BOMs and monitor critical component inventories
  • Coordinate with our contract manufacturers on production deliveries or resupplies
  • Monitor production schedules and component lead times
  • Conduct final quality control tests on products before they are shipped to customers
  • Developing and maintaining SOPs for product testing, repairs, and evaluation
  • Travel up to 10% to work sites beyond the corporate office to support clients, vendors, and conduct field trials in underground environments

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Associate or bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline such as mechanical, electrical, manufacturing, or similar field
  • 0-3 years professional experience in a supply chain, operations, or engineering role
  • Experience and comfort working with basic hand tools and electromechanical assemblies
  • Solid troubleshooting and debugging skills for mechanical and electrical issues
  • Experience with following and managing a project schedule
  • Must live within the greater Pittsburgh area and has access to a vehicle
  • Able to clearly and effectively communicate thoughts and ideas to a wide range skilled individuals
  • Experience with using a CAD packages such as Solidworks

NICE TO HAVES:

  • Experience working with contract manufacturers on hardgoods such as electronics, machined components, and/or mold parts
  • Some familiarity with international shipping requirements
  • Experience with using a PLM or inventory system system
  • Can read an electrical schematic
  • Familiarity with Linux
  • Previously worked on advanced electromechanical systems, like robots
  • Comfort with operating basic terminal or software commands
  • Portfolio of past work and projects (both professional and personal are welcomed)
