SUPPLY CHAIN MANAGER (REGULATED CPG exp a must)


THE ROLE


This role will report to the VP of Operations and work collaboratively with Sales, Finance, and other Operations functions.


We are looking for a Supply Chain Manager to be responsible for procurement, managing inventory, shipping, and delivery. Attention to detail, creative problem solving, and relationship building are top priority as this is how business remains successful.


Being able to solve logistics challenges with time sensitive awareness to meet customer expectations is essential to this position. This position is perfect for a person who can work independently and take ownership of tactical daily shipping operations at a growing company with endless opportunity. You get excited by details but can also see the big picture. Your previous experience allows you to find creative solutions.


REQUIREMENTS

  • +5 years' experience in logistics/supply chain management
  • +3 years' team management experience
  • +3 years' experience managing third party carriers and warehousing
  • + 3 years' working knowledge of the logistics of regulated products within dietary supplements, food products, CPG, or a similar nature
  • Strong analytical aptitude with proven ability to analyze/interpret data and build quantitative models of business problems
  • Advanced knowledge of computer literacy, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Excellent oral and written skills, organizational and time-management abilities, effective people skills, and the ability to work with staff at all organizational levels
  • Ability to manage complex shipment requirements with ease
  • Flexibility and adaptability to the demands and requirements of a fast-paced environment with multiple demands and priorities
  • Excellent creative thinking skills with emphasis on developing innovative solutions to complex problems that may not have one clear answer
  • Detail oriented and hyper-organized
  • Effective teamwork skills
  • Must be able to maintain confidentiality of proprietary information
  • Ability to work with little supervision and effectively manage conflicting priorities

WOULD BE GREAT IF YOU HAVE

  • Experience with NetSuite, ERP modules is a big plus
  • Experience managing shipments based on varying state to state laws or regulations
  • Knowledge with handling complex goods
  • Strong relationships with third party shipping companies and warehouses in the US


WHAT YOU'LL BRING

  • Negotiate freight rates with carriers for TL and LTL
  • Manage and implement new data structure and analytics to the organization to help with the growth of the team and company
  • Source carriers and warehouses for movement of finished goods and raw materials within the US
  • Own the demand planning process, reconciling customer demand, and managing inventory supply to meet forecast targets
  • Work collaboratively to understand historical sales, market trends, product mix, marketing promotions, and other factors which influence the forecast
  • Coordination with manufacturers and warehouses to confirm, track and report on finished product inventory
  • Organize pick-ups with third party manufacturers and/or warehouses, ensure proper communication takes place and all is aligned to ensure seamless pickup
  • Tracking of shipment to destination, update customers as required
  • Follow up on delivery delays or issues and propose creative solutions as required
  • Liaise and build strong relationships with suppliers and vendors (internal and external)
  • Assist with quality control and inspections of products
  • Analyze logistics and freight information to identify areas for cost savings and/or improvements in operational efficiencies
  • Ongoing management of Customs brokers
  • Operations & 3PL Management (including E-Commerce Fulfillment warehouses)
  • Prepare reports and other documentation as required
  • Daily maintenance and continuous updating of critical tracking reports
  • Grow and maintain existing and new carrier and vendor relationships
  • Perform work with a sense of urgency and attention to detail
  • Maintain a positive attitude that inspires co-workers, vendors, and customers
  • Be available after hours to assist with resolving issues
