Supply Chain Director


Alwood is an international supply chain solutions and product development provider that is looking for a Supply Chain Manager to oversee its global supply chain and sourcing efforts. This role will interact directly with our assorted manufacturing personnel and focus on enhancing supply chain operations and performance. 



This role will report to the VP of Operations and work collaboratively across sales, engineering, and logistics departments of the company. This is an in-office position based in our Richardson, TX location.


Key Responsibilities:


·     Review, prioritize, schedule, and expedite the delivery of material to meet target dates and customer expectations

·     Communicate daily with internal teams regarding any issues with production, delivery dates or delays and prepare contingencies

·     Communicate with salesforce as needed regarding any production or delivery issues and discuss contingencies

·     Develop and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers and vendors, negotiating contracts and terms to secure favorable pricing, quality and delivery terms

·     Analyze supply chain data and performance to improve productivity and efficiency while reducing costs

·     Review and resolve discrepancies or issues prior to material being received

·     Analyze current production capacity and forecast demand to identify potential bottle necks to prevent delayed material or last-minute planning

·     Support product/business development team in terms of supplier selection, cost control and project execution to achieve project target and business objectives

·     Identify and track supplier non-conformance issues to closure

·     Assist with a wide array of additional functions as needed with a rapidly growing company



Skill Requirements:



  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, logistics, business, or related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in supply chain management and global sourcing with relevant knowledge of aluminum extrusion, die casting, metal fabrication, plastics, and other hardware.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing input costs and logistics costs.
  • Experience with managing global logistics networks
  • Willingness to travel internationally for on-site visits with manufacturing partners
  • Great project management and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience using an ERP system (NetSuite).
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, interpersonal and influencing skills.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to back up conclusions with data.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Time management skills, with the ability to separate the important tasks from the noise.
  • Sense of urgency, with ability to work well under pressure.
  • Strong Excel skills, with the ability to present concise data to internal and external stakeholders.
