Job Description
The Supply Chain Demand Planner is responsible for maintaining forecast models based on company and customer needs. They will analyze and review statistical data and forecasting accuracy, will support management with risk assessments and mitigation activities, and will propose and implement solutions to improve demand forecast accuracy and supply chain efficiency. They will collaborate with sales, purchasing, suppliers, and other departments to obtain and share information on demand drivers and changes. They will also manage and drive part number changes in the system to make sure breakpoints are executed properly with no obsolescence or customer shortages.

Job Description
The Supply Chain Demand Planner is responsible for maintaining forecast models based on company and customer needs. They will analyze and review statistical data and forecasting accuracy, will support management with risk assessments and mitigation activities, and will propose and implement solutions to improve demand forecast accuracy and supply chain efficiency. They will collaborate with sales, purchasing, suppliers, and other departments to obtain and share information on demand drivers and changes. They will also manage and drive part number changes in the system to make sure breakpoints are executed properly with no obsolescence or customer shortages.
Responsibilities
- Conduct forecast maintenance with feedback to Demand Planning.
- Address demand related issues in a timely and effective manner.
- Fully own the local demand planning and forecasting for our North America distribution with additional focus on special order demand, new program launches, and End of Life programs.
- Communicate demand gaps and significant forecast changes to Supply Planning. Determine course of action to bridge gaps and communicate back to Supply Chain Planners.
- Develop and implement tools and processes to improve forecast capabilities, efficiency, and accuracy. Perform root cause analysis.
- System set up for engineering changes and Material Master management.
- System BOM changes management.
- Report creation and data analysis to identify gaps and demand misalignment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, organization, and time management skills.
- Ability to work within a team and as an individual contributor in fast paced, changing environment.
- Strong verbal and written communications with ability to effectively communicate at multiple levels across the organization.
- Multitasks, prioritizes, and meets deadlines in a timely manner.
- Strong organizational and follow-up skills, as well as attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, operations management, or related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a Demand Planning, Data Analyst, or Supply Chain related role.
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment while maintaining an individual workload (automotive preferred).
- Experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Solid understanding of inventory management practices and procedures.
- Solid understanding of production processes.
- Fundamental knowledge of procurement processes/best practices.
- Advanced skill level in MS Office suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, Power Point).
- Strong working experience and knowledge of ERP system operations (SAP and Kinaxis Rapid Response is preferred).
