Position Summary

The Supervisor of Billing Prior Authorization works interactively with internal departments, patients and their healthcare providers regarding current billing practice for Natera, Inc. and NSTX, Inc. This includes patient education, educational materials, answering basic clinical and program inquiries, and helping coordinate access to therapies through the patient’s healthcare provider.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor the billing prior authorization team
  • Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs)
  • Monitor and improve team productivity and performance
  • Generate and analyze monthly trend reports
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize billing and patient care processes
  • Manage the Natera Care platform for prior authorization cases
  • Provide excellent customer service and patient education
  • Assist in hiring, training, and performance evaluations
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA and other healthcare regulations

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Management, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 5+ years of experience in healthcare billing, preferably in a laboratory setting
  • 2+ years of experience in healthcare billing, prior authorization, or related field
  • Leadership or supervisory experience preferred
  • Strong knowledge of payer eligibility and benefits
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite
  • Experience with healthcare IT systems

Preferred Skills

  • Healthcare research and analysis capabilities
  • Problem-solving and conflict resolution abilities
  • Project management experience
  • Familiarity with genetic testing and diagnostics industry

The pay range is listed and actual compensation packages are based on a wide array of factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, years & depth of experience, certifications and specific office location. This may differ in other locations due to cost of labor considerations.
