Job Description

  • Oversee all on-site construction activities for K-12 projects, ensuring compliance with project specifications, timelines, and budgets.
  • Coordinate with project managers, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and school district representatives to ensure project success.
  • Implement and enforce safety protocols to maintain a safe job site, adhering to OSHA standards and specific regulations for educational environments.
  • Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress, quality, and compliance with design specifications and building codes.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, making adjustments as necessary to accommodate changes and ensure timely project completion.
  • Facilitate communication between construction teams and school staff to minimize disruptions to school operations.
  • Address and resolve any on-site issues or conflicts promptly and effectively, maintaining a focus on project goals and client satisfaction.
  • Prepare and present regular progress reports to senior management and stakeholders.
  • Ensure all work is performed in accordance with district regulations, school policies, and local building codes.

The Successful Applicant

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a superintendent in K-12 construction or similar projects.
  • Extensive knowledge of construction practices, regulations, and standards specific to educational facilities.
  • Proven ability to manage complex projects and lead diverse construction teams.
  • Strong understanding of the specific safety and operational requirements for school construction projects.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in construction management software (e.g., Procore, Bluebeam).
  • Knowledge of building codes, safety regulations, and OSHA standards.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, construction drawings, and specifications.
