Position Overview
As a Superintendent II, you will lead field construction activities and personnel, ensuring that assigned projects meet budget, schedule, quality, and safety objectives. This role requires extensive knowledge of construction methods, materials, tools, and equipment, as well as familiarity with building codes and OSHA safety standards. Strong experience in ground-up construction and petroleum/gas station projects is highly desired.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee project compliance with drawings, specifications, and local codes
Collaborate with project managers and owner's representatives
Review submittals and manage RFIs
Monitor and communicate site conflicts, schedule, and quality issues
Assist in negotiating claims and change orders
Manage project equipment needs and maintenance
Maintain site housekeeping and security
Coordinate with subcontractors to ensure adherence to schedules and quality standards
Implement and enforce project safety protocols
Submit accurate daily job reports and weekly progress photos
Manage project close-out and punch list completion
Mentor junior team members
Participate in post-project reviews
Requirements
High School diploma or GED
Residence in or near the Kansas City metro area
Willingness to travel up to 100% once local projects are complete
Proficiency in reading blueprints
OSHA 30 certification
Expertise in Divisions 1-16 of construction
Experience in fuel/petroleum, restaurant, and retail construction (highly desired)
Physical ability to perform job-related tasks, including lifting up to 50 lbs and pushing/pulling up to 100 lbs
