My client who is a reputable General Contractor in the Houston area is looking to bring on a Superintendent to their office! Details below!


Key Responsibilities:


- **Planning:**

- Develop and maintain construction sequence and schedule from project start-up.

- Supervise activities of Assistant Superintendents and craft personnel, including determining construction methods, manpower levels, material quantities, and equipment needs.

- Understand project estimates and budgets, reviewing submittals before work installation.

- Participate in subcontractor and supplier buyout processes.

- Assist in project scheduling updates, procurement coordination, and establishment of punch list and project close-out procedures.

- Arrange procurement of necessary tools, materials, and equipment.

- Mentor and train team members as required.


- **Pre-Construction:**

- Collaborate in developing and managing pre-construction schedules with the Project Manager.

- Provide technical expertise during the preconstruction phase.

- Participate in Constructability Reviews and Value Engineering processes.

- Develop site logistics plans.


- **Safety:**

- Ensure all project personnel and subcontractors understand and implement job safety requirements.

- Proactively identify and rectify safety hazards on-site.

- Strive for zero injuries across all projects.

- Promptly report jobsite incidents or accidents to safety personnel.

- Participate in onsite safety meetings.


- **Client Engagement:**

- Understand and communicate owner's construction goals to field personnel.

- Foster positive relationships with Owners, Architects, Program Managers, and Inspectors throughout projects.


**Minimum Qualifications:**


- 5-10 years of experience as a commercial construction Superintendent.

- BS or BA in Construction Science/Engineering or equivalent commercial construction experience.

- Experience with Higher Education projects preferred.

- Proficiency in building and managing project schedules.

- Familiarity with local subcontractors in the Houston, TX area.

- Proficient in Microsoft Office and scheduling software.

- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
