Overview:

Sourabh Gupta, a Brooklyn-based artist and designer located in Industry City, is seeking a Studio

Operations Manager to join our expanding studio. This role is ideal for a motivated professional who

thrives in a dynamic, creative environment and is passionate about supporting an artist's vision and

studio growth. As the first employee, you'll work directly with the artist and play a crucial role in building

out the core team as the studio expands.


1. Studio Management (40% of role)

● Develop and maintain efficient systems for CRM, task tracking, and project management

● Manage studio schedules, ensuring timely completion of projects and deliverables

● Create and implement workflows to improve studio efficiency and accommodate growth


2. Administrative and Financial Tasks (25% of role)

● Handle bill payments, online purchases/returns, and expense tracking

● Assist with light bookkeeping, client invoicing, and coordination with external financial

professionals

● Manage correspondence and client relationships


3. Logistics and Maintenance (20% of role)

● Oversee packaging and shipping of delicate artworks, including creating special crates when

necessary

● Coordinate studio maintenance, equipment repairs, and supply inventory

● Assist with transportation needs, including operating a van or small truck (valid driver's license

required)


4. Strategic Support (15% of role)

● Collaborate on studio growth strategies and branding initiatives

● Assist in managing social media presence and content creation

● Foster relationships with other artists and industry contacts


Work Environment and Culture:

● Fast-paced, entrepreneurial setting with a focus on growth and innovation

● Typical work hours are Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 6 PM, with occasional evenings or weekends

for special projects or events

Qualifications

● Experience in operations/studio management, preferably in a creative setting

● Strong organizational and problem-solving skills

● Excellent written and verbal communication abilities

● Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace; Adobe Suite knowledge is a plus

● Valid driver's license and comfort with driving in New York City

● Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds occasionally
