Job Summary

The position works collaboratively with faculty, staff, and students and is responsible for the development and implementation of comprehensive student academic support programming throughout the student lifecycle and across all campus sites.  Provides leadership in the Student Success Hub for areas including but not limited to: general Hub operations, all forms of academic tutoring, Spotlight Instruction Series, and other student success initiatives.

Develops and implements assessable programs and services, aligned with the mission of the college, that are designed to complement and enhance the academic experience. Utilizes a holistic approach to student support and development to provide an equitable education experience for an inclusive learning environment.  This position reports to the Associate Dean of Student Success Services (Student Success Hub). 

Job Duties

  • Responsible for assisting the Associate Dean with day-to-day operations and coordination of the Student Success Hub and overseeing the Hub in the absence of the Associate Dean. 
  • Develop and implement a forward-thinking vision for tutoring based on best practices and emerging trends. 
  • Manage tutoring locations, supplies, and staff at all campuses, online, and at partner high schools. 
  • Hire, train, and supervise student workers, temporary employees, and tutors in the tutoring area. 
  • Coordinate with faculty, staff, human resources, and outside partners to ensure there is a broad range of tutoring options available for students and that they are promoted effectively. 
  • Ensure that tutoring and other learning programs are accessible and inclusive for first-generation, low-income, and under-represented students. 
  • Provide fiscal oversight and management of tutoring budgets. 
  • Coordinate with the Academic Dean and Dual Credit Director on the development and implementation of academic tutoring services for dual credit students both on-campus and in partner high schools.  
  • Develop and maintain tutoring online platforms and systems. 
  • Implement and maintain the CRLA-based tutor training procedures, with specialized training and best practices based on specific roles such as embedded tutors and dual credit tutors, with the goal of CRLA certification. 
  • In coordination with the Teaching & Learning Center, develop and offer training to faculty on best practices for implementing embedded tutors in their classes. 
  • Serve as the lead Student Success Hub contact for the Spotlight Instruction Series and Learning Communities. 
  • Support accountability, institutional effectiveness, and quality of service by collecting data to develop, implement, and assess effective procedures that support college operations and foster student success.  
  • Other duties as assigned. 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree (preferably in higher education) or equivalent, and six years related experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree preferably in Higher Education or a related field.
