General Description
Under the supervision of the assigned Administrator/Manager of Student Services, provides health screening and referral services, health promotion and health education services to students.
Examples of Duties
Essential Functions
Maintain individual licensure and professional certifications while providing direct clinical services within scope of practice
Assess and respond to individuals experiencing a medical or mental health emergency on campus, when available
Ensure that departmental licensures and certifications are renewed annually and as needed
Assists in the development and review of departmental protocols.
Train new staff regarding SHS roles, policies & processes
Communicate with campus community via a variety of formats, including, but not limited to: electronic, social media, e-mail, website, written, tabling, and presentations in order to promote activities and workshops
Serve as liaison between MC and various community agencies, including Merced County Department of Public Health, in order to provide relevant health and wellness resources and information to the student population
Represent Student Health Services and advocate for students on various health and safety related committees
Collaborate with other departments in developing, maintaining, and distributing information to support compliance with various laws, codes and regulations
Maintain health records in a secure, confidential manner, in compliance with applicable laws
Participate in writing annual departmental Program Review
Other related duties as assigned
Required
Typical Qualifications
Associate's degree in Nursing
Registered Nurse plus at least two (2) years of applicable experience
OR
The equivalent education and experience
Licensure And/or Certification
A valid, current California Registered Nurse License
Desired
Bachelor's degree in Nursing

Interview Information
Those applicants deemed highly qualified for the position will be invited to appear for oral interviews before a screening committee. A limited number of candidates will be invited to interviews. Interviews may be conducted via Zoom or onsite. Applicants are required to ensure access to the necessary technology to participate in a Zoom interview and will be responsible for their travel expenses, if necessary.
Employee Benefits
Permanent part-time employees receive paid holidays as well as prorated vacation and sick leave. While permanent part-time employees are not eligible for health/vision/dental care coverage or group life insurance, the District does offer an optional supplemental benefits suite.
