Strategic Accounts Sales Manager

USA - home-based

Full-time, permanent

Are you looking to join a dynamic global industry leader that can boast nearly 120 years of excellence, growth, and continuing innovation? Do you hold yourself to the highest of standards? If yes, then we would love to hear from you.

The Strategic Account Sales Manager is responsible for managing the commercial aspects of BSI’s strategic Assurance clients in the Americas region. Working in tandem with the Assurance Strategic Accounts Operations team and other internal stakeholders, this person will be responsible for growing the assigned strategic accounts, increasing market share, and targeting, developing, and attracting new relevant accounts.

In this role, you will be responsible for taking a client-centric approach to sales by showcasing and proposing only relevant solutions from the BSI portfolio to support clients’ strategic goals. You will build credible relationships with your clients, effectively manage and nurture existing relationships, and seek opportunities to win and develop new business.

This position is home-based in the continental US, but you will be expected to travel to visit your clients quarterly. You must be comfortable with travel and working within a target-driven environment.

Additional Responsibilities Include

  • Development and execution of key account strategy/business plans for agreed key accounts.
  • Partner with marketing to develop and execute account-based marketing (AMB) strategies that are aligned with account goals.
  • Supported by your manager, establish, implement, and manage an account management structure and plan covering strategic objectives, client agenda, business development, account management, communication, relationship maps, org charts, and reporting plans.
  • Perform all tasks according to established Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) related to the assigned accounts, including Sales, Revenue, and Gross Margin.
  • Along with other stakeholders, build and maintain client relationships on VP or C-level and engage clients on a solution-selling approach, aiming at long-term profitability of all nominated accounts.
  • Identify new product development opportunities within accounts to establish a mindset of co-creation and innovation. Coordinate the product initiatives in line with and integrate them into the overall BSI strategy.
  • Be an active partner of Assurance America’s “center of excellence” for providing responses to large RFPs and managing the entire process towards improving BSI’s success rate in winning large bids in coordination with the global center of excellence. In some cases, not as the opportunity leader, but rather supporting a wider team.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders across the globe (Marketing, Sales, Operations) to develop products and service solutions to meet clients’ strategic needs.

Education & Qualifications

  • B.A. / B.S. degree in Business, Communications, or other relevant field.
  • MBA is preferable.
  • Minimum of 10 years in Commercial and/or Marketing roles.
  • Minimum of 5 years in the Assurance sector/Professional Services and related activities.
  • Experience leading global/international, complex enterprise and strategic accounts.
  • Knowledge of management systems standards and Country trends and demands.
  • Knowledge of the Testing, Inspection, and Certification (TIC) industry is strongly preferred. Alternatively, knowledge of Professional Services business is required.
  • Professional services sales and marketing knowledge.
  • Knowledge of Key Account Management and best practices.
  • High proficiency with Microsoft Office suite - Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Deep knowledge and experience with Salesforce.com.
  • Successful proven experience leading RFPs/RFQs bid processes and dealing with procurement departments, and track history, including the high win ratio of such bids.
  • International experience is a desired asset.
  • Travel up to 50% of the time (must not have restrictions to travel within Americas region and the UK).
  • Fluency in English is required. Understanding of Spanish, French, and/or Portuguese is a key differentiator.
