As a Staff Level Content Designer at Cruise, your role is crucial in defining the consumer and community experience through strategic content creation and design. You will craft language and systems that not only inspire trust but also make AV (Autonomous Vehicle) technology accessible to non-technical customers and communities. Your efforts will align with our mission to help people navigate our products effectively. Your contributions will be integral to product roadmaps, supporting the broader company objectives through initiatives and projects led by content design.

Key Responsibilities

  • Content Strategy & UX Writing: You will develop and implement content strategies and UX writing across various product projects, ensuring that these elements are effectively integrated into product roadmaps.
  • Strategic & Systems-Level Projects: You will lead strategic and systems-level projects focused on content creation, product development, and design culture, all aimed at supporting the company's objectives.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: You will collaborate closely with Design, Product, and Engineering teams to ensure that the content aligns with user needs and company goals, fostering a cohesive development environment.
  • Content Design Management: You will manage content design initiatives from conception through execution, meticulously tracking progress and ensuring that each phase aligns with the broader company objectives.
  • Content System Utilization: You will utilize the Company Content System (CCS) to improve organization-wide adoption, enhancing efficiency in content creation and ensuring consistency in the shared language across all departments.
  • Scaling High-Quality Experiences: You will stay ahead of scaling by accelerating the creation of high-quality experiences, developing governance models, and initiating design projects that align with company objectives, ensuring sustainable growth and innovation.
  • Demystifying AV Technology: Focus on creating content that simplifies and explains AV technology for non-technical customers and communities. Your goal is to build trust and understanding by making complex concepts accessible and engaging.
  • Customer Education & Trust Building: Develop educational content that not only builds customer trust but also enhances their understanding of our products. Aim to create clear, informative, and engaging materials that demystify product features and benefits, fostering a deeper connection with our customers and communities.

Qualifications

  • You should have proven experience in content design, UX writing, or a related field, ideally within a tech or consumer-focused company.
  • A strong understanding of content strategy, user experience design principles, and product development processes is essential.
  • You must possess excellent communication, collaboration, and project management skills.
  • The role requires the ability to work on strategic and systems-level projects, with a keen eye for detail and a passion for creating engaging user experiences.
  • Familiarity with tools such as Jira and Figma, and experience working within agile development environments are important.
  • Additionally, experience in creating content that educates and builds trust with non-technical audiences is crucial.

The salary range for this position is $147,300 - $216,600. Compensation will vary depending on location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. You may also be offered a bonus, long-term incentives, and benefits. These ranges are subject to change.
