Overview

We are seeking a skilled Staff Accountant to join our team remotely. As a valued member of our organization, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.

Main Responsibilities

Skills Required:

A successful Staff Accountant should possess a blend of essential hard and soft skills. Beyond a solid foundation in accounting principles, proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) is crucial. Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills are also essential, alongside the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.

Job Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate accounting records, including bank reconciliations, general ledger accounts, and subsidiary ledgers.
• Record daily transactions in the accounting system, including purchases and sales.
• Prepare and analyze financial data for profit-and-loss statements, balance sheets, cash flow reports, and income statements.
• Ensure all financial reporting complies with state and federal regulations.
• Assist in conducting regular internal audits to assess the effectiveness of company policies.
• Support financial audits and ensure all financial records adhere to GAAP standards.
• Manage detailed accounts payable records and ensure timely invoice payments.
• Assist in preparing periodic financial statements (monthly, quarterly, and annually).
• Collaborate on budget forecasts to support management planning efforts.
• Recommend strategies to reduce costs, increase revenue, and enhance operational efficiency.
• Familiarity with income taxes and support in preparation and filing processes.
  
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field (CPA certification a plus).
• Proven experience in accounting roles, demonstrating proficiency in relevant software and financial analysis.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
