Staff Accountant

This position is remote for those outside of a commutable distance from Denver or Chicago. Individuals located in the Denver or Chicago area will be considered hybrid with a requirement to spend 2-3 days a week in the office.

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our Finance team. The ideal candidate will work closely with the Controller and assist in the preparation and maintenance of financial records, manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, assist with payroll processing, and support the finance department with various tasks. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to gain valuable experience in a dynamic and supportive environment.

What You Will Do:

• Assist in managing accounts payable and vendor relations
• Assist with accounts receivable processes such as collections and disputes
• Assist the finance and people team with payroll processing
• Record financial transactions in ERP and ensure the accuracy of ledgers, accounts, and journal entries
• Reconcile bank statements and ensure discrepancies are identified and resolved
• Support month-end, quarter-end and year-end close processes
• Maintain and update fixed asset ledger
• Assist in the preparation of financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements
• Perform data entry and maintain accurate financial records
• Monitor and analyze company expenses to ensure cost-effective operations
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure efficient and accurate financial operations
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance accounting processes and procedures
  
  
  

Who You Are:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred
• 2-4 years of relevant accounting experience (internships or work experience in accounting preferred)
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
• Experience with accounting related software
• Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
• Good analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment

• Experience with NetSuite ERP solution
• Experience with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
• Experienced in a multi-entity accounting environment
• CPA or pursuing CPA designation
