Staff Accountant

Based in Downtown Nashville, SiLo started in 2020 with a mission of “Redefining the brokers role and capabilities in the supply chain.” SiLo is a privately funded, debt free company that has been able to grow since 2020 to an office of 56 people, growing in all key metrics year over year by being focused on being easy to do business with and following our north star of responsible growth. We are looking for a skilled Accounting Specialist to perform a variety of

accounting, bookkeeping and financial tasks.

Accounting Specialist responsibilities include keeping financial records updated, preparing reports and reconciling bank statements. You will also run accounting software programs to process business transactions, like accounts payable, disbursements, expense vouchers and receipts. A successful Accounting Specialist should be familiar with all accounting procedures and have a flair for numbers. Ultimately, a successful Accounting Specialist will ensure that the company’s daily accounting functions run accurately and effectively.

Responsibilities

• Provide accounting and clerical support to the accounting department
• Process payables and review vendor statements
• Reconcile accounts in a timely manner
• Provide assistance and support to company personnel
• Research, track and restore accounting or documentation problems and discrepancies
• Inform management and compile reports/summaries on activity areas
• Function in accordance with established standards, procedures and applicable laws
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Proven accounting experience, preferably as an Accounts Receivable Specialist or Accounts Payable Specialist, preferably 0-2 years
• Familiarity with bookkeeping and basic accounting procedures
• Competency in MS Office and accounting software
• Hands-on experience with spreadsheets
• Accuracy and attention to detail
• Aptitude for numbers
• Ability to perform filing and record keeping tasks
• Data entry and word processing skills
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
• Microsoft Excel skills a plus
• Experience in freight brokerage or factoring company accounting, preferred but not required
