CORDENTAL GROUP, a fast-growing dental support organization of nearly 50 dental practice locations, has an opportunity for an experienced ACCOUNTANT in our Dubuque, Iowa resource center. Our ACCOUNTANT will support accounting operations by reconciling accounts and statements, producing accounting and operational reports and preparing journal entries for the company. The efforts of the Accountant will contribute directly to the success of company goals by driving business results and supporting the needs of this rapidly growing organization.
Responsibilities of the position include:
Performs bank statement reconciliations.
Performs various accounting functions as assigned.
Prepares journal entries and reconciliations for monthly general ledger close.
Perform monthly reconciliations of company accounts and resolve differences.
Maintains and balances subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, posting accounts, reconciling transactions and resolving discrepancies.
Assists in preparation and distribution of certain management reports and accompanying schedules, worksheets and narratives.
Assists in providing follow-up and documentation of significant variances.
Assists with annual external audit by completing requested materials, assisting in preparing assigned schedules and work papers
Experience and qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting preferred (Associate’s degree combined with several years of experience will be considered)
2+ years of experience in similar or related position
Demonstrated ability to think analytically
Basic understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
Intermediate to advanced experience with Microsoft Excel and major accounting software packages – Sage Intacct preferred but not required
Ability to work independently and as part of a team and take on new tasks
High level of detail orientation, as well as demonstrated strong analytical and accounting skills
Exceptional oral and written communication and customer service skills
