Staff Accountant
The ideal candidate will be responsible for timely and accurate preparation of financial accounting data in a variety of areas. It is essential that this candidate brings analytical and organizational skills in order to best support the accounting team.
Responsibilities
- Perform monthly accounting close procedures ( preparing bank reconciliations, month-end Journal Entries, payment imports, etc.) and balance sheet reconciliations
- Process Capitation Revenue Files along with other cash receipts
- Assigning G/L codes for posting
- Perform daily cash management duties (updating Cash Flows, uploading and decisioning Positive Pay)
- Compile and run various monthly Claims Payments and Claims Payable reports
- Maintain various sub-schedules to be used by Financial Analyst to prepare Financial Performance summaries by Health Plan, Line of Business
- Perform additional duties and prepare ad-hoc reports as need
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Accounting, Economics, or Finance
- 1 - 2 years' experience in accounting
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel
- 1-2+ years of Health Plans, Hospital Finance and/or Physician organizations experience.
