We are seeking a qualified and experienced Senior Water Resources Engineer for a full-time on-site position located in Thomasville, GA, within driving distance of Tallahassee, FL. Remote candidates will be considered if they live or are willing to relocate to North Florida (Jacksonville, Ocala, Lake City, Gainesville, Tallahassee) or South Georgia (Valdosta, Bainbridge, Albany). The Senior Water Resources Engineer will be responsible for a range of day-to-day tasks, including stormwater management, water quality analysis, hydrologic and hydraulic analysis, water distribution, and wastewater collection. This role involves preparing reports, conducting site assessments and surveys, and overseeing the design and construction of water resources projects.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Review complete project documents for conformity and quality assurance.
Contribute to the continual improvement of processes and deliverables.
Assist management and staff as a technical specialist or advisor.
Supervise all staff necessary to complete assignments.
Review and approve scopes, budgets, and schedules for assignments.
Prepare proposals to provide professional services or obtain funding for engineering projects or programs.
Receive supervision and guidance relating to overall objectives, critical issues, new concepts, and policy matters.
Receive direction on unusual conditions and developments.
Transport materials, including samples, supplies, and survey equipment.
Travel to clients, consultants, job sites, agencies, and work locations as needed.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in engineering from an ABET/EAC accredited program.
Professional Engineer Registration (FL, GA or able to obtain within 6 months).
8+ years of experience in water resources engineering.
Water Resource Management and Hydrology skills.
Stormwater and Stormwater Management skills.
Experience in water quality analysis.
Experience designing and managing construction projects related to water resources.
Proficiency in relevant software, including AutoCAD, ICPR4, ArcGIS, and Civil 3D.
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
Professional Engineering (PE) License is preferred.
Additional Preferred Qualifications
Experience with erosion and sediment controls.
Familiarity with state and federal regulations related to water resources.
Experience working on projects in the Southeast US.
