Sr. Trade Compliance Analyst

The Sr. Trade Compliance Analyst reports to the Associate Director of Global Trade Compliance and is responsible daily activities surrounding importing and exporting from the United States. Position requires strong working knowledge of CBP (Customs and Border Patrol) and BIS (Bureau of Industry and Security) regulations (EAR, Export Administration Regulations) and best practices.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Lead for product classification to include Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) and Export Control Classification Number (ECCN).
  • Provide support and instruction internally with internal logistics, purchasing, and order management teams, as external parties such as third-party logistics and customs brokers.
  • Review and act on Denied Party Screening inquires and responses.
  • Review end use statements for red flags.
  • Monitor and report Anti-Boycott requests
  • Prepare and submit Commodity Classification Automated Tracking System (CCAT) and Commodity Jurisdictions (CJ).
  • Conduct regular audits and assessments of trade compliance activities to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
  • Maintain recordkeeping as required by the governing authorities.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required

  • Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS), Export Control Classification Number (ECCN), United States Munitions List (USML). Must be able to demonstrate justification utilizing General Rules of Interpretation.
  • Strong experience in building new relationships that drive cross-functional process improvements.
  • Demonstrates problem-solving skills and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Proficient in Oracle and Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Office, Excel, Access, SharePoint)

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, international trade, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in trade compliance.
  • Licensed Customs Broker, or equivalent experience
  • In-depth knowledge of international trade regulations, including import/export controls, customs compliance, and sanctions programs.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
