Sr. SQL Database Support Analyst (Strong T-SQL Skills Req.) Description
Our client in the oil and gas industry is looking for a Sr. SQL Database Support Analyst to add to their team in Houston, Texas. Reporting directly to the President, you will manage, enhance, and provide user support for our client’s software product by troubleshooting and diagnosing SQL database issues. The ideal candidate will be able to leverage their strong T-SQL and SQL skills to offer timely support to resolve or escalate customer software issues. To be successful, you must have excellent troubleshooting skills and be comfortable navigating high-complexity software and SQL databases. This position offers a mix of technical troubleshooting, customer interaction, and also future managerial responsibilities as our client builds out this department, making it ideal for those looking to leverage their extensive technology and analytical skills in a role with professional growth opportunities.
Sr. SQL Database Support Analyst (Strong T-SQL Skills Req.) Responsibilities
Diagnose and resolve complex software and database issues
Interact directly with end-users to understand all reported issues
Document and track all software problems and resolution timelines
Analyze logs and data to troubleshoot and recreate customer issues
Conduct detailed data analysis to pinpoint and resolve issues
Collaborate with development teams regarding the deployment of fixes and enhancements
Provide status updates to customers on pending issues
Escalate any issues as needed
Ensure all proposed resolutions are tested and cross-checked before deployment
Lead and mentor future support team members as the role expands
Sr. SQL Database Support Analyst (Strong T-SQL Skills Req.) Qualifications
4+ years of professional software or database troubleshooting/support experience is required
Proficiency with T-SQL and database troubleshooting is required
Experience with enterprise-class software (3-tier architecture with SQL database) is required
Excellent Communication & Customer-facing Skills Are Required
Ability to work 100% on-site is required
