Job Description

Primary Function Of PositionThe Strategy Manager serves in a strategic and tactical capacity, and in partnership with various business units (product, commercial, Future Forward, etc.), assesses and supports the current and future needs of the company. The Strategy Manager will also collaborate broadly across Intuitive’s functional groups and business units, with a particular focus on white-space clinical targets. This role will report to the VP Strategy.Essential Job Duties

  • Initiate and drive portfolio and commercial efforts that will expand Intuitive’s business boundaries to create future value. Key resource to explore and debate concepts and themes. Ability to effectively represent the Strategy organization to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Create work plans and project manage key strategic initiatives including business model exploration, digital roadmap, Platform development, portfolio and clinical strategy with a 4-10+ year horizon, etc.
  • Identify, gather and examine external research for consideration by the Strategy team. Partner with thought-leading/comparable companies Intuitive can engage with and gain insights from. Based on output collaborate with VP Strategy on course of action.
  • Project manage Strategy initiatives. General activities include keeping projects on track, identify required resources, support team meetings, minutes, etc.
  • Build relationships and collaborate with key business functions. Become a trusted and valued business partner focused on portfolio strategy and promoting the vision of the Strategy team.
  • Model and promoter Intuitive Surgical’s culture and value set in your actions language and results. Focus on the “vital few” that allows for exceeding customer’s expectation.

Qualifications

Required Skills and Experience

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in the medical device/healthcare industry; demonstrated success in a high-growth research environment.
  • In-depth knowledge of clinical medicine, primarily surgical care. Demonstrated ability to interpret clinical evidence.
  • Solid financial and fundamental investigation capability in healthcare (medical technology) companies preferred.
  • Broad understanding of hospital operations, economics, reimbursement, regulatory and healthcare trends.
  • Ability to build relationships and influence key stakeholders. Entrepreneurial spirit that drives and motivates people to action. Drive organizational focus on priorities and operate effectively in a dynamic environment.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills.
  • Excellent project management skills, attention to detail and follow through.
  • Inquisitiveness and dynamic learning ability.
  • Ability to travel up to 20% of the time

Required Education And Training

  • Minimum Bachelor’s or master’s degree in a relevant technical field (engineering, clinical medicine, etc.), corporate strategy, finance or economics required.

Base Salary Range Region 1:$184,200 - $265,000

Base Salary Range Region 2: $156,500 - $225,300

Shift: Day

Travel: 25% of the time

Workplace Type: Set Schedule - This job will be onsite weekly, the percentage of onsite work will be defined by the leader.
