About The Role
As the Senior Financial Project Accountant, you'll collaborate closely with our Accounting Leadership Team to drive project-based accounting initiatives across our organization. This role involves working closely with Project Finance, FP&A Managers, and our Accounting Team, focusing on holistic GAAP financial statements, financial audits, and critical project-based accounting (Service Contracts, EPC, Construction, and Lease Accounting). Experience with Lease Accounting (ASC842) and revenue recognition (ASC606) is essential.

Responsibilities
Take ownership of project-based financial reporting (monthly, quarterly, yearly) and journal entries across multi-entity structures.
Collaborate with EPC Project Managers to track project costs and monitor performance against critical project milestones, ensuring operational workflows remain uninterrupted.
Lead capitalization implementation accounting initiatives in coordination with Project Development and EPC Teams, covering project leases, contracts, debts, expenses, accruals, and reconciliations.
Manage project contract accounting requirements and compliance, developing financial reporting packages, including loan draw request packages, debt service coverage reports (DSCR), cost variance analysis, and cash flow forecasts.
Lead revenue recognition assessments based on Lease Accounting ASC842 and Revenue Recognition ASC606.
Qualifications
5+ years of corporate finance and accounting experience with strong knowledge of GAAP principles.
Experience in Project Based Accounting (Project Development, EPC, Construction, Service Contracts, Leases).
CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or CMA (Certified Management Accountant) highly preferred.
Proficiency in Quickbooks or similar financial accounting software, and advanced MS Excel skills including macro/VBA writing, data queries, and pivot tables.
Solid understanding of financial statements, reports, and financial reviews (reconciliations, accruals, deposits, contracts, capitalization, leases).
Familiarity with financial debt agreements, debt requirements, and debt service coverage ratios (DSCR).
Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex financial concepts to stakeholders.
Experience supporting financial reporting and accounting initiatives for EPC or Construction operations preferred.
Knowledge of renewables, solar, wind, battery storage, or energy storage projects is desirable.
