Sr. Quality Technician - US - Lexington, SC

The Sr. Quality Technician is responsible for executing in-process product inspection on the line as need is identified. The technician will alert production associates of failed inspections as well as train associates on requirements in order to produce good product. This person will conduct receiving inspections, measure parts for conformance and perform other duties within the lab to ensure quality assurance of the facility. This role will work in an ISO 9001:2015 certified environment.

The above are performed while adhering to company policies and procedures including engineering codes and product standards. Follows all safety rules and regulations. The Sr. Quality Technician will report directly to the Sr. Quality Engineer or Lab Supervisor.

The Build (Responsibilities)

  • Conducting in-process production inspections; Collecting and reporting data regarding failing inspections
  • Training associates on proper product requirements when product fails inspection
  • Communicating and alerting associates of product quality issues on the line (escalating when needed)
  • Document rejected material and work with engineering, supplier quality engineer, and other stakeholders to resolve quality issues
  • Generate quality alerts, modify work instructions and train other associates as required
  • Proficient in the use of standard inspection gages and automated/manual optical measuring equipment (CMM, GMM, Keyence, Optical Comparator, etc)
  • Performs other duties as assigned

The Toolbox (Qualifications)

  • High School Diploma required
  • 5-8 years of quality technician and manufacturing experience
  • Problem Solving Skills (8D, 5-Why, Pareto Charts, etc)
  • Experience using advanced quality tools in a manufacturing environment, including but not limited to PPAPs, FAIs, FMEAs, Control Plans, GR&R, Capability Studies, and Product/Process Validation
  • Knowledge and understanding of ANSI AQL sampling criteria and ISO 9000 as well as experience with measuring tools and devices
  • Well-versed in Microsoft Office and SAP
  • Strong listening and communication skills (written, oral and presentation skills) with meeting facilitation skills.
  • Attention to detail and thoroughness in completing tasks
  • Proficient in Blueprint reading and understanding
  • Willingness to take on responsibilities and new challenges as they arise
