Sr. Procurement Specialist- Indirect Procurement

LHH is actively seeking a Category Manager- Indirect for a global transportation company in the Carol Stream area. This is a great opportunity with a stable and growing company and a chance to play a key role in a highly visible department .

This role is responsible for leading strategic sourcing activities across multiple areas of Indirect spend, working with high level internal customers and managing complex vendor relationships.

The primary responsibilities for this role include

• Developing and implementing complex procurement strategies
• Negotiating contracts and SOWs
• Work interdepartmentally to identify and define procurement needs
• Achieve cost savings targets
• Develop budgets
• Vendor management
• Identify areas of opportunity
• Additional duties as needed

The ideal candidate profile will have the following qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, or related field
• 5+ years of progressive procurement experience
• Highly analytical
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Comfortable interfacing with all levels of the organization
