Overview/Purpose:
The Senior Manager - Vendor Management Office (VMO) is responsible for the administrative vendor management lifecycle, managing contracts, and vendor management performance. The role manages the Vendor Management Office which acts as the central point of contact for all vendor-related activities and ensures that all vendors are managed effectively and efficiently.
This role oversees value preservation through standardized enterprise-wide vendor/contract management lifecycle processes and practices providing end-to-end visibility and ensuring alignment to strategy, managing risks and costs effectively, while building relationships that are mutually beneficial to Hain and its suppliers.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Develops and implements VMO processes, practices, and standards to ensure vendor/contract performance, rationalization, and alignment across the enterprise.
Ensures vendor performance management: Monitoring vendor performance against key performance indicators (KPIs) and ensuring that vendors are meeting their contractual obligations.
Risk management: Identifying, assessing, and mitigating vendor-related risks to protect the organization’s reputation and assets.
Manages the entire vendor lifecycle, (e.g. from selection to offboarding, contract redlining and management and AP processing exceptions) to ensure that vendors are managed effectively throughout their engagement with the organization.
Collects and analyzes vendor data to identify trends, opportunities for improvement, and cost savings.
Develops and maintains positive and mutually beneficial relationships with vendors to enhance the customer experience.
Acts as primary for managing contracting within defined framework.
Ensures contract information is managed effectively and visible to key stakeholders especially towards the end of the vendor contract, ensuring timely renewal or transition where required.
Manages financial aspects of vendor engagements from onboarding/offboarding cost management, tracking of spending throughout the life of the contract, and working with the business/procurement to determine value from the vendor engagements including return on investment.
Provides training and support to internal stakeholders on VMO processes, tools, and technologies.
Stay current on emerging trends and drive continuous improvement initiatives to streamline VMO processes, reduce costs and optimize current VMO technology.
Ensures vendor management practices are in compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
Minimum Requirements:
Minimum 7 years’ experience in procurement including proven experience of successfully establishing and overseeing vendor management systems/programs ideally within a global food or CPG manufacturing environment.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Oversees VMO delivery team.
Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:
Bachelor’s or equivalent degree
Strong contract review skills and proven experience working with legal teams.
Ability to think globally and interpret locally and execute tactically.
Strong analytical / problem solving skills and the ability to resolve issues without unnecessary escalation.
Excellent organizational skills, ability to prioritize multiple priorities and strong attention to detail.
Strong business acumen with ability to identify and proactively address impacts and disruptions.
Ability to lead change and execute on strategic decisions.
Strategic and forward thinking with the ability to drive execution to deliver results.
Strong collaboration and relationship management knowledge, skills, and abilities to establish credibility and confidence with customers, stakeholders and service providers.
Strong personal presence and ability to influence, galvanize and align customers, stakeholders, and service providers at all levels.
Proven project management skills to manage resolution of action items and issue escalation, to coordinate and track requirements of the extended VMO team managing the vendor relationship.
Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
Ability to empower, motivate and inspire staff.
Previous supervisory experience a plus.
Preferred knowledge of the Consumer Product Goods Industry
