This position is responsible for organizing, leading, and developing the planning department within the company. It involves coordinating and controlling all planning activities to ensure the ability to deliver to our customers at all times.
What You Will Do
Defines, designs, and describes the planning processes (S&OP process, supply & material planning, handover to production and purchasing), permanently ensuring the transparency of the requirements, inventory, and supply situation for Bachem Americas
Utilize our global capacity in Europe and the US to balance the demand and supply worldwide and ensure high utilization. Create and maintain documentation and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for S&OP and demand planning processes and systems relevant to peptide manufacturing
Serve as point of contact for internal/external key partners for Bachem Americas, as well as a representative of the planning department in internal/external committees
Perform mid-year and year-end performance review
Develop and mentor the PP department to ensure an ongoing relationship with internal departments such as the manufacturing and scheduling team
Interview and hire staff as needed and oversee staff training
Craft and establish KPIs, metrics, and dashboard tools to understand and improve the effectiveness of the PP department
Seek, investigate, and actively pursue continuous improvement opportunities
Ability to maintain and administrate the forecasting and demand planning master data in the Supply Chain in the ERP system
Ensures materials availability (raw materials, intermediate products, technical materials) to achieve the supply plan successfully
Qualifications
Bachelor degree in chemistry or similar field with a minimum of 3 years experience in Supply Chain Planning for Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient (APIs) development-related industries or
Equivalent business degree in another area with a minimum of 5 years experience in Supply Chain Planning within relevant markets, such as biotech or pharma
In-depth knowledge of forecasting, S&OP, supply/demand planning, and inventory management procedure
APICS certification or in progress (preferred)
Experience with ERP and data tools (SAP preferred)
Capability to work in a multi-culture environment
Strong analytical skills with the ability to analyze complex data sets and to support day-to-day activities
Strong decision-making skills and leadership capabilities
Ability to articulate with excellent written/oral communication and interpersonal skills
Expert computer knowledge, including Microsoft Office
Highly Proficient in Microsoft Office, MS Project is a plus
Enjoys working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and is flexible in adapting to changing trends in the business and requests
Base Annual Salary Range: $123,600 - $169,950
Placement of new hires in the wage range is based on several factors including education, skill sets, experience, and training.
