Sr Manager, Human Resources - Remote

As a Senior Manager of Retail Human Resources, you will serve as a strategic partner to the Regional Vice President(s), offering thought leadership, guidance, and comprehensive support on all HR-related matters across the region. This role is pivotal in shaping our people strategy and enhancing the effectiveness of our HR initiatives. Your expertise will span the entire employee lifecycle, focusing on policy interpretation, succession planning, talent development, diversity and inclusion, and compliance. This position is integral to our Retail Leadership Team, contributing to employee relations, staffing, recruitment, and workforce planning efforts.

Key Responsibilities

Act as the primary advisor and thought partner to regional leadership on people and organizational matters.

Independently lead the design and execution of the regional people strategy, working collaboratively with regional partners to identify and implement effective solutions.

Assess HR needs, diagnose problems, and implement high-quality programs that boost performance and retention. Address succession planning gaps and foster a culture of development.

Provide expert guidance on the application of HR policies and practices in areas such as recruitment, employee relations, compensation, development, and compliance.

Advocate best practices and spearhead HR and training initiatives to promote positive employee relations and enhance HR knowledge among leaders.

Develop a profound understanding of the retail sector to ensure that HR programs are strategically aligned with business objectives.

Apply extensive knowledge of employment laws to ensure compliance and uphold the company's values in all HR practices.

Consult with management and staff to resolve issues, ensuring fair treatment and legal compliance while maintaining a desirable workplace environment.

This role is remote with up to 50% travel required.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

5-7 years of HR generalist experience, preferably in retail or hospitality.

Strong understanding of employment law and regulatory requirements (EEO, ADA, FMLA, DOL, OSHA, etc.).

Proven ability to build relationships with a diverse workforce.

Solid knowledge of HR disciplines, including staffing, performance management, compensation, benefits, and employee relations.

Exceptional coaching abilities, particularly with Multi-Unit Managers on performance and employee relations.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Demonstrated ability to handle confidential matters with discretion.

Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities.

PHR certification is preferred.

Experience managing multiple units across multiple states is desirable.

High energy and flexibility with a willingness to travel 50%.
