The Sr Mgr, Financial Processes Is Accountable For

Developing, maintaining and evolving accounting procedures and transactional internal controls in line with changing business needs to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting in accordance with GAAP and management reporting requirements.

Partnering with Internal Audit to develop and execute plan to enable smooth transition to 404b audit testing and reporting by external auditors.

This senior position will interact with senior management, operations employees, external auditors, consultants and third parties as well as indirectly oversee the work of a team of employees.

What you'll be doing

Close the Books

  • Play a leadership role in annual audits with internal and external auditors. Ensure data requests from auditors are prepared timely, correctly and are thoroughly reviewed.
  • Support as needed in the technical review of issues or memos to ensure timely and well documented conclusions are provided.

Internal Control

  • Oversee elements of the Company’s SOX documentation including Risk Control Matrix and Process Narratives that impact the Global Accounting team.
  • Supervise the review of controls with process owners to ensure the precision and rigor of the supporting analysis provides appropriate evidence of the completes and accuracy of the activity.
  • Accountable for ensuring appropriate root cause of control analysis of deficiencies and ensuring remediation activities occur

Process Improvement & Project Management

  • Supports the enhancement of Bioventus organizational processes, controls and systems to support the timely and accurate Transactional accounting in accordance with GAAP..
  • Responsible for identifying, recommending and implementing process improvement.
  • Complete special projects as assigned.

Relationships

  • Externally interfaces with individual customers and strategic consultants. Internally interfaces with cross functional groups (i.e. operations, commercial operations, surgical commercial leaders,, International BU, marketing, compliance, legal, and human resources
  • Key communication role in ensure remainder of Finance team informed of developments and activities

People Leadership

  • Coach and manage performance of an extended team, ensure focus on completeness and accuracy of all process objectives.

What you'll bring to the table

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting preferred.
  • Relevant advance degree is preferred but not required
  • CPA or equivalent required
  • Minimum 7 years’ financial accounting experience, including public accounting experience.
  • Experience with an international company preferred.
  • Must have experience managing process changes with a large organization/function.
  • Sound knowledge of US GAAP and SEC reporting and requirements of Sarbanes Oxley
  • Experience in providing feedback and coaching to others in an accounting discipline.
  • Significant knowledge of U.S. GAAP requirements.
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Highly effective communicator (up, across, down) both written and orally
  • Ability to proactively identify problems and respond quickly
  • Must be able to demonstrate the ability to manage projects that are complex in nature where professional judgment is required in solving problems and making recommendations.
  • Demonstrated strong accounting and analytical/problem solving skills.
  • SAP experience preferred.
