Vaco Dallas is seeking qualified candidates for a Sr. IT Infrastructure Manager for a Dallas-based client, with a global operations. This will be a hands-on leadership role in which you will function as a player/coach, leading a small team of technologists overseeing Networking, Server, Cloud (Azure), Security, Storage, Disaster Recovery, and Backup Solutions for the enterprise. Candidates must be local to the Dallas market, and willing/able to work onsite. Candidates must also be able to pass a criminal background check and drug screen. Candidates must be legally eligible to work in the United States, as our client is unable to sponsor at this time.

Salary Conversion: Based on experience, $140,000 - $160,000 + full benefits

Reports to: Director of Infrastructure & Operations

Overview:

The Sr. IT Manager will develop, plan, and implement an information technology (IT) strategy that meets the company's business needs, delivers optimal return on investment, and maintains utmost security. This position is responsible for all aspects of IT infrastructure including: Planning, organizing, implementing and monitoring Data Center and Cloud Operations. The incumbent also provides maintenance and support services for all hardware and software and its supporting infrastructure, overseeing the technical infrastructure as it relates to Networking, Server, Cloud (Azure), Security, Storage, Disaster Recovery, and Backup Solutions. This position is accountable for the strategic and tactical hands-on management of systems, servers and enterprise applications. This person will provide the vision and strategy for designing, developing, and implementing IT Infrastructure ensuring key business strategies and processes to enable enterprise growth and flexibility.

Job Duties:
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to direct reports (FTE's and contractors), including conducting periodic one-on-one meetings and performance reviews, creating team member succession plans, evaluating and determining hiring, promotion and all employment related decisions.
  • Drive the establishment of performance goals and provide on-going feedback, coaching, and development to enhance the team's performance and capability, to facilitate open communication, and to encourage continuous performance improvement.
  • Develop strategic plans and practices that support integrated and progressive infrastructure and operations to best meet current and future business requirements.
  • Manage the lifecycle for systems hardware, network and communications infrastructure, desktop architecture, and internet resources.
  • Lead and coordinate development of IT infrastructure and operations to ensure key business strategies and processes are supported by systems enabling enterprise growth and flexibility.
  • Direct, oversee, and evaluate Infrastructure strategic planning, goals, objectives, and operating procedures.
  • Work with the Executive Leadership to plan and manage a multi-year technology roadmap, business plan, and budget.
  • Assist in building relationships with vendors and negotiation of pricing contracts with IT vendors.
  • Direct activities in collaboration with other IT Vertical Leaders.
  • Provide technical expertise (tactical and operational) on evaluation, selection, implementation, and maintenance of information systems.
  • Collaborate with management teams to define and monitor project scope, span of control, purpose, objectives, strategy, stakeholders, deliverables, requirements, timelines, milestones, deliverables, resources, and metrics.
  • Develop project budget proposals, track expenditures, manage the budget plan, and recommend subsequent changes, as necessary.
  • Provide accurate and timely communication of status, risks and timelines, including system downtime/uptime, outages/availability, and performance.
  • Represent the organization with federal, state, local, and professional organizations in the area of IT infrastructure.
  • Manage incidents in IT's managed environments to ensure they are recorded, analyzed, interpreted (root cause analysis, opportunities for optimization, trending, etc.), resolved, and escalated, as appropriate.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field from four-year college or university; or at least ten (10) years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience in a cloud computing environment.
  • 10+ years' experience in Infrastructure Technology with knowledge of contemporary IT infrastructure-hybrid-on prem/cloud architecture
  • 5+ years of IT Leadership experience, directly coaching and managing team members.
  • Demonstrated competency in strategic thinking and leadership with strong abilities in relationship management among peers, team members, and within all levels of the organization
  • Proven ability to lead by motivating, inspiring, and supporting team, leaders and management to successfully achieve their divisional and departmental objectives
  • Demonstrated strength in strategic thinking, identifying key business issues and opportunities, creating business strategies and driving results across internal teams and/or external partners
  • Thorough knowledge of general principles of ITIL / ITSM and project management
  • Proficient understanding of unified communication technologies including VOIP and video conferencing
  • Working knowledge and expertise with VMware, most Microsoft Server products and Microsoft Windows applications
  • Manage the design, deployment, configuration, monitoring and maintenance of high availability enterprise solutions that implement industry standards using MS Azure and M365 services (Exchange online, Teams, SharePoint, etc.)
  • Knowledge of Network Security infrastructure (Firewalls, Proxy Servers, VPN concentrators)
  • Able to collaborate and present at all levels of the organization
  • Able to lead key initiatives using core project management fundamentals
  • Network problem analysis and troubleshooting
  • Explain technical subjects to non-technical people in a precise and simple way
  • Ability to work independently and solve problems as they arise
  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with integrity
  • Ability to continuously learn new technologies
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Willingness to travel
  • A minimum of (3) years of experience in managing an enterprise-level tenant in Microsoft Azure (multitenant management experience preferred) platform and related services to include:
