What You'll Do

Avalara is looking for an Enterprise Information Architect with experience in strategic initiatives, modernization, and business operations.

You will facilitate the governance, discovery and identification of the technology needed for new solutions, provide architectural leadership to multiple teams and projects, ensure applications, information and processes are integrated and adhere to stated architectural design principles and standards. You will work remotely within the US.

  • Contribute to the development of technology roadmaps and operational areas.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that solutions align with business needs and adhere to established guidelines.
  • Provide technical input into the development and maintenance of the IT portfolio, ensuring a cohesive and strategic approach to project selection.
  • Research solutions, assess options, and formulate proposals to meet business goals.
  • Collaborate with peers to provide current and target state architecture.
  • Directly accountable for the conversion of product requirements into reference architectures or designs for key business needs and operational processes.


What You'll Need to be Successful

  • You have 10+ years of relevant and progressive work experience which must include operating at an Architect-level.
  • Experience integrating enterprise information platforms (Salesforce, ServiceNow, Workday, etc.) from an application process, data and technology perspective.
  • You are experienced with the challenges of technical debt remediation, application rationalization and integration strategy.
  • You have experience producing targeted designs and executive-level presentations that highlight our needs facilitated by seamless integrations of systems.
  • You have 5+ years experience with enterprise architecture and the application of TOGAF principles.
  • In-depth knowledge of modern design fundamentals, application development, process, and data architecture.
  • You have a minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in a quantitative discipline such as Computer Science or Engineering


About The Team

You would be part of an influential Enterprise Architecture team which is focused on developing high-quality solutions based on modern cloud-based technologies. You would also improve the foundational needs of the Practice, while facilitating IT Governance and Architecture Operations. You will be an individual contributor reporting to the Director of IT Architecture.
