Summary:

Promote, communicate, and implement human resources (HR) strategies and initiatives and partner with leaders across Meridian. Play a strategic role in driving excellence across various functions across human resources, including compensation, benefits, HRIS, reporting and analytics, and employee relations. Build and maintain influential relationships by being a strategic partner with management and an advocate for employees.

  • Consult with the leaders to foster and promote the engagement of Meridian’s core values at all levels, as well as resolve employee relation issues, conduct effective investigations, and recommend action for sensitive and complex situations.
  • Coach departmental heads and management on performance management processes. Provide day-to-day performance management guidance to management on coaching, counseling, career development, and disciplinary actions.
  • Manage and contribute to multiple complex projects concurrently, actively participating in project teams and implementing initiatives while simultaneously ensuring proper communication and collaboration within business departments and with business partners. Ensure that key deliverables are met within the specified timelines.
  • Play a strategic role in the direction of the people management function across Meridian. Drive effective implementation of new people management initiatives in different departments and levels of the business.
  • Ensure that there is alignment between people management strategies and the existing business policies and procedures, updating each as required.
  • Conduct work with a high degree of autonomy and provide guidance and mentorship to less experienced HR team members.
  • Handle sophisticated and/or complex HR concerns, problems, or issues that have been escalated.
  • Maintain an in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks, and ensuring regulatory compliance. Partner with members of the legal department as needed.
  • Partner with stakeholders and business partners to ensure that the best practices are being adopted.
  • Report on all people metrics, review gaps in leadership capability across departments within the business and develop action plans accordingly.
  • Maintain an advanced and detailed knowledge of the industry trends, best practices, and labor legislation ensuring regulatory compliance pertaining to employment and HR matters.
  • Partner with business leaders and managers to understand their strategic objectives, organizational challenges, and talent needs, developing HR solutions to address them.
  • Serve as a strategic advisor to business leaders on all HR-related matters. Serve as a policy subject matter expert and provide in-depth HR policy guidance and interpretation.
  • Conduct advanced analysis for HR metrics and workforce data to identify trends, gaps, and opportunities for improvement, and develop actionable insights to inform decision-making and drive continuous improvement.
  • Develop and present complex reports for stakeholders and management teams offering insights into various aspects of human resources management.
  • Provide input on compensation strategy, including decisions about salary offers, raises, and promotions.
  • Work closely with the broader HR team, including learning and performance and talent acquisition, to ensure the business receives necessary support.
  • Represent the company at conferences and networking events.
  • Adheres to all Meridian corporate policies and procedures.
  • Travel as required.
  • Any additional responsibilities assigned by management.


Education and Knowledge:

Bachelors Degree in Human Resources, Psychology, Business Administration, or a related field required. Masters preferred. Eight years of human resources experience is required.

Certifications: SHRM HR Certification

Qualifications:

Knowledge across all human resource disciplines, including compensation organizational development, employee relations, diversity, and performance management.

Business acumen and understanding of organizational dynamics, business operations, and industry trends.

Ability to build trusted relationships and influence business leaders at all levels of the organization.

Ability to serve as a proactive force behind workforce strategy.

Proficiency in Microsoft applications, such as Word, Outlook, and Excel

Written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively engage and collaborate with diverse stakeholders.

Interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships with employees.

Attention to detail with analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving capabilities.

Ability to leverage data and metrics to drive decision-making and measure the impact of HR initiatives.

Ability to analyze complex situations and deliver lasting employee relations solutions.

Flexibility and ability to rapidly respond to changes.

Time management skills with the ability to contribute in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple, competing priorities.

Solution-oriented and proactive mindset with a willingness to learn.
