In a HRBP role at Grubhub, you must be innately curious, analytical, flexible, highly driven and operate with integrity. In addition, you should possess strong interpersonal skills, excellent problem-solving abilities, and a deep understanding of HR best practices. You will collaborate with various stakeholders, including the People team, business leaders, and employees, to deliver effective HR solutions that contribute to the organization's overall success.


The Sr. HRBP will provide strategic support to our Operations & Sales teams on all people-related matters, including but not limited to organizational design, leadership coaching, employee relations, performance management, and compensation.


The Impact You Will Make

  • Establish strong partnerships with the business to understand their strategic objectives, challenges, and unique talent needs. Proactively provide guidance and support on org design and development, team effectiveness & change management initiatives.
  • Guide leaders on performance management processes, including goal setting, talent calibrations, performance reviews, and development plans. Help establish a culture of continuous feedback and coaching to drive employee growth and development.
  • Lead the recruiting strategy for your organization partnering closely with the talent acquisition team. Understand talent gaps by partnering closely with your leaders, ensuring you are identifying the right candidate and making competitive offers.
  • Build strong relationships across the people team Centers of Excellence (compensation, HR operations, talent acquisition, learning & development), and other internal teams to drive HR initiatives, ensuring alignment with company goals and values. Collaboration is key as we move fast and need to work together to get things done.
  • Partner with the compensation team to support leaders in identifying issues, making recommendations, and ensuring we are paying our top talent competitively by understanding market data and analyzing internal equity when making decisions.
  • Support leaders and employees navigating complex employee relations issues investigations, and/or performance improvement plans. Know when to make tough calls and partner with internal counsel to drive issues to resolution.
  • Champion a culture of diversity and inclusion by driving initiatives, supporting our employees, and promoting awareness to cultivate an environment where all individuals are valued and respected.



What You Bring To The Table

  • Bachelor's degree; SHRM or HRCI certification(s) a plus.
  • A minimum of 8-10 years of experience in an HR role, with at least 5 years in a business partner capacity; experience supporting a sales organization and/or non-exempt population a plus.
  • Proven ability to interface with senior leadership and drive a best-in-class people strategy.
  • Strong understanding of local & federal HR laws, regulations, and best practices; specifically as they relate to non-exempt populations.
  • Proficiency in HRIS/HCM systems; experience with Workday is a plus.
  • A proactive (vs reactive) mindset. By thinking critically, you catch issues, identify trends/opportunities and make recommendations to leadership accordingly.
  • Display business maturity and strong emotional intelligence to coach, develop, influence and counsel managers and employees.
  • Ability to build trusted, confidential relationships with key stakeholders at all levels.
  • Eagerness to ask for and receive feedback with professionalism and integrity.
  • Comfort in a continually evolving, fast-paced and ambiguous environment requiring flexibility, innovation, while maintaining a positive attitude and calm demeanor; experience navigating within a startup environment is a plus.
