Lantronix is seeking a Senior Field Application Engineer who will play a critical role in providing technical expertise and support to our customers, partners, and internal teams. You will be responsible for understanding customer requirements, designing solutions, and providing guidance on the implementation and integration of Lantronix products into customer environments. Your technical proficiency and ability to communicate complex concepts effectively will be essential in driving customer success and satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with sales teams to understand customer requirements and recommend appropriate Lantronix solutions.
• Design and develop customized solutions to meet customer needs, leveraging Lantronix products and technologies.
• Provide technical support to customers during the pre-sales and post-sales phases, including product demonstrations, proof-of-concepts, and troubleshooting.
• Conduct technical training sessions for customers, partners, and internal teams on Lantronix products, features, and best practices.
• Work closely with product management and engineering teams to provide feedback on customer requirements and contribute to product roadmap planning.
• Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitive offerings in the IoT and networking space.
• Represent Lantronix at industry events, trade shows, and conferences, demonstrating thought leadership and promoting our solutions.
  
  
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in network engineering, preferably in a customer-facing role.
• Proficiency in SaaS platforms and solutions, with a strong understanding of cloud computing principles.
• Experience with virtualization technologies, including hypervisors (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V), Docker, and Linux Containers (LXC).
• In-depth knowledge of IoT routers, gateways, and modems, including cellular connectivity protocols (e.g., LTE, 5G).
• Familiarity with Ethernet switching, Power over Ethernet (PoE), and related networking technologies.
• Expertise in out-of-band serial access technologies, such as console servers and device servers.
• Strong Linux experience.
• Experience with OpenWRT or similar embedded Linux distributions is highly desirable.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Experience in scripting languages such as Python, Lua, or similar for automation and customization.
• Self-motivated and proactive, with a strong problem-solving mindset and the ability to work effectively in a dynamic environment.
• Willingness to travel occasionally for customer meetings, trainings, and events.
