About The Position

The Great Place To Work® Events Team is responsible for the strategy and execution of a series of geographically dispersed events each year. These events vary in size, complexity, stakeholder, and modality and are led and managed by a small and efficient team. The Events Team reports to the Sr. Director, Events, and is looking to expand by adding a pivotal role, to lean in and contribute.

Sr. Events Content Manager is a senior individual contributor, expected to be driven, able to seamlessly transition between independent work and collaborative team efforts - particularly in complex scenarios – and seen as a trusted advisor by Great Place To Work leaders and customers; all of which will be instrumental in the success in this role. This role requires analytical thinking, leadership, and a keen understanding of the Great Place To Work business, customers, and goals related to event content. The willingness to be flexible and perform tasks as needed to achieve team and organizational goals is critical to success in this role. Some travel (domestic and international) will be required.

The Sr. Events Content Manager position will spearhead the strategic execution of the annual Great Place To Work® For All™ Summit, customer and prospect roundtables, and various experiential internal and external in-person and digital initiatives. As a key liaison with C-Suite executives, this role will leverage their depth of experience to manage content-driven event programs that drive brand momentum, amplify thought leadership, and complement product marketing campaigns.

The Sr. Events Content Manager must have an entrepreneurial, curious, creative, and growth mindset, with a passion for storytelling and creating memorable event experiences, and a proven track record in effectively communicating complex concepts to team members at all organizational levels. They also must anticipate potential objections and influence others to embrace a shared vision and demonstrate excellent judgment. The incumbent in this position must exhibit an ongoing commitment to championing diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging. Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the seamless execution of multiple in-person and digital event programs that demand a blend of strategic foresight and rapid tactical implementation.
  • Drive successful marketing, branding, content, and communications delivery within the overarching event program content strategy.
  • Promote the development, review, and curation of session topics and descriptions, and explore innovative session formats to attract and engage participants and wider audiences.
  • Manage content programming timelines for internal and external speakers, ensuring accurate scheduling across all content programs.
  • Develop brand-specific programming and marketing communications catered to C-level executives, encompassing conceptualization, content generation, and speaker coaching that may include DEIB (Diversity, Equity, Inclusion & Belonging) and HR (Human Resources) concepts.
  • Lead and manage all content-related aspects of promotional email campaigns, event websites, session descriptions, social media, post-event recaps, mobile applications, and support content for on-site environmental signage production.
  • Cultivate and maintain robust relationships with internal colleagues and external stakeholders across all levels to leverage business insights and drive towards team, business unit, and organizational objectives.
  • Lead and manage vendor relationships that capture content-related outputs, including visual artifact, videography, photography, and podcast teams.
  • Collaborate closely on community-building initiatives, both virtual and on-site, to foster engagement and retention, and deepen partnerships with customers and prospects.
  • Present key metrics and reports to stakeholders, offering insights on progress, challenges, and potential solutions.
  • Demonstrate keen business acumen, with meticulous budgeting, fiscal discipline, and a track record of bringing projects to the finish line on time and under budget.
  • Utilize best practices to measure, analyze, and report on event programs – identify and translate insights into actional recommendations, strategic effectiveness, and return on investment (ROI), with a sharp eye toward optimizing future initiatives.
  • Work extended hours and weekends during event preparation phases.
  • Assist team members in all aspects of event production when needed.

Required Qualifications

  • 6-8 years of experience managing on-site events or experiential marketing initiatives for large-scale meetings and conferences, partners (Audio Visual (AV), event management, hotel, venue, expo production, sponsor partnerships, etc.).
  • 6-8 years of proficiency in overseeing multiple vendors and managing budgets and timelines effectively.
  • 5-7 years of demonstrated ability to navigate diverse stakeholder landscapes in B2B, SaaS, Human Resources, or Professional Services industries.
  • Proven record of accomplishment in managing high-touch client relationships, particularly with enterprise-level C-suite leadership offices that produce long-term results.
  • Proven track record of executing successful content strategies for large-scale events or conferences, including managing session requests for proposal processes, speaker selection, speaker management, and content marketing pre-, during and post-event for maximum business impact.
  • Project management expertise, encompassing ownership of multiple and concurrent work streams.
  • Proficiency in project management tools, content management systems and tools, analytics platforms, event management software (Bizzabo, Cvent, or equivalents), Microsoft Office 365, and Salesforce.
  • Working knowledge of and commitment to Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEIB) and its practices in the workplace.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certified Meeting Planner Certification.
  • Proficiency in navigating ambiguity, making informed decisions, and prioritizing tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to address concerns or potential risks proactively.
  • Demonstrated ability to enable the team to pivot and adapt as needed.
  • Exceptional communication skills, characterized by clarity, conciseness, and empathy, with a strong emphasis on active listening.
  • Stakeholder (Director-level and above) influence – written, verbal, and via presentation (in-person and virtual).
  • Experience with Smartsheet, Google Analytics, and Marketo.

The pay range for this position in Colorado, New York, Washington, and California is $97,890 to 140,750, however, the base pay offered may vary depending on skills, experience, job-related knowledge, and location. This position is also eligible for a short-term incentive and a long-term incentive as part of total compensation.
