Job Summary

The Director of Supply Chain Excellence plays a critical role in leading the strategic direction and building consistent tools and processes for the supply chain function within the assigned AGAB locations. This strategic leadership position requires a seasoned professional with extensive experience in supply chain management, strategic planning, and team leadership. The Director will drive initiatives to optimize supply chain operations and improve efficiency while mitigating risks and fostering continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Supply Chain Strategy: Develop and implement comprehensive supply chain strategies for procurement, inventory management, warehousing, transportation, and logistics. Establish KPIs and dashboards to track performance and identify areas for improvement.
  • Strategic Planning: Develop and execute strategic plans to optimize the end-to-end supply chain, including procurement, production planning, inventory management, logistics, and distribution.
  • Demand Planning and Forecasting: Collaborate with sales, marketing, and finance teams to develop accurate demand forecasts and sales projections. Utilize forecasting tools and data analytics to optimize inventory levels, minimize stockouts, meet customer demand, and improve free cash flow.
  • Supplier Management: Establish and maintain strategic partnerships with key suppliers and vendors. Collaborate with suppliers on continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Inventory Optimization: Develop and implement inventory management strategies to optimize inventory levels while balancing service levels, carrying costs, and cash flow, as well as mitigating stockouts. Implement inventory planning techniques such as safety stock, reorder points, and replenishment strategies.
  • Logistics and Distribution: Support transportation, warehousing, and distribution operations to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of products to customers.
  • Risk Management: Identify supply chain risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize disruptions. Proactively manage risks related to supplier relationships, geopolitical factors, natural disasters, and other external threats.
  • Technology Integration: Evaluate, implement, and leverage technology solutions such as planning and supply chain management software, ERP systems, and data analytics tools to enhance supply chain visibility, agility, and efficiency.
  • Data analysis and Insights: Utilize analytical tools and techniques to extract actionable insights from data, driving continuous improvement in forecasting accuracy, demand planning, inventory management, and resource allocation. Build scenario modeling and risk assessments to identify potential issues and develop mitigation strategies. Leverage AI technologies where applicable to enhance predictive analytics capabilities.
  • Continuous Improvement: Drive a culture of continuous improvement within the supply chain function, proactively identifying opportunities to optimize processes, enhance capabilities, and drive operational excellence. Stay abreast of industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies related to supply chain and AI.
  • Perform all other job duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of progressive experience in supply chain management or a related field, with at least five years in leadership. Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Supply Chain Management, Operations Research, or related field. Master's degree preferred.
  • Proven track record of successfully leading and managing a team to achieve supply chain objectives.
  • Proactive, results-oriented, and self-motivated. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills. Ability to lead and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate data into actionable insights and strategies. Proficiency in supply chain management software and tools.
  • Strong understanding of AI technologies and their applications in supply chain planning (e.g., demand forecasting, machine learning, predictive analytics, optimization algorithms, etc.).
  • Certification in supply chain management (e.g., APICS, CSCP) is a plus.

Work Environment

Role requires ability to travel substantially to office locations in Chicago, Youngstown, OH and plant locations throughout the US and occasionally to international locations in Canada, Brazil, Argentina and Europe.
