Sr Director of Software Development

The Sr. Director of Software Development will oversee the architecture, design, development, testing, and delivery of CaseBuilder division’s software products. This individual will partner with the Product Management team to fully understand the product vison, the technical and functional requirements and establish the technology design, development, and delivery, and help set the priorities for new features and maintenance work. This person will be responsible for ensuring that the team meets the support and availability Service Level Agreements, delivers contractual obligations and roadmap items in a timely manner in with high quality. As a technical and subject matter expert this individual directs the team in the development, testing, product release and troubleshooting the software applications. This person directs the technical and operational functions of the organization including capacity allocation, system design, code review, directing QA and Performance testing, and defect resolution. From a technical perspective, this person must have Sr. Developer qualifications, as well as a strong leadership and organizational skills.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities

• Lead the technical feature design and launch of new features.
• Responsibility over the on time, on budget, and high-quality delivery of applications by the team, and the optimized design of the systems.
• Effectively manage project/roadmap scope and effectively resolve issues as they emerge.
• Maintain quality and ensure responsiveness of applications.
• Maintain code integrity and organization, while modernizing and maximizing efficiency.
• Active involvement in and contribution to requirement analysis.
• Active involvement in and contribution to design reviews, development, deployment, unit testing and code reviews.
• Active and direct participating in staff selection, onboarding, goal setting and performance management.
• Active involvement in training and development of staff.
• Partnering with DevOps to improve CI/CD pipeline and system observability.
• Leading QA team in process and automation optimization.
• Ownership of the application framework design.
  
  

Minimum Qualifications

• 15+   years of experience including: Sr. Developer qualifications, DevOps, QA
• Technical team leadership experience
• Extensive experience with Java Web Frameworks and SQL
• Experience in QA and Performance testing fundamentals
• Strong understanding of computer science fundamentals
• Strong understanding of law enforcement operations highly desired
• Effective oral and written communication skills
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or equivalent degree
