Sr. Director, FP&A & Strategic Finance - Modesto/Dublin, CA

Job Summary

The Senior Director, FP&A & Strategic Finance serves as the strategic advisor in operational finance to budget owners. This role plays a pivotal part in developing and executing portfolio management for the company, emphasizing the generation, selection, execution, and realization of business opportunities. Responsible for overseeing overall strategic execution and ensuring the quality of processes and services across the organization, the Senior Director conducts quantitative analyses to assess P&L performance, forecast financial goals, and support strategic business plans, marketing execution, and operational decisions across all business units.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct in-depth strategic analysis to identify growth opportunities, optimize expenses, evaluate financial analysis, and enhance core business metrics to facilitate informed financial decision-making
  • Assist in strategic and analytical development, including business modeling and sensitivity analysis, to support strategic options, market assessment, and competitive analysis
  • Lead strategic portfolio management initiatives, overseeing the generation, selection, execution, and realization of business opportunities to drive company growth
  • Implement process enhancements to streamline activities such as Month-End Close, Forecast updates, Target Setting, and ongoing reporting for improved efficiency
  • Monitor the progress of strategic initiatives across all departments using rigorous financial methodologies
  • Collaborate with business units and corporate support teams to define, support, and evaluate strategic plans aligned with financial objectives and timelines
  • Work closely with the accounting team to facilitate monthly/quarterly close processes related to operating expenses, accruals, and associated procedures
  • Provide insightful financial trends and analysis to evaluate business performance against operational plans, identify future profit and loss drivers, and assess portfolio opportunities and risks
  • Develop analytical frameworks and forecast models to enable rigorous financial risk assessments and facilitate data-driven business decisions
  • Cultivate a high-performing Finance team through leadership and skill development, promoting a culture of excellence and innovation

Hiring pay range: $182,107.00 - 239,015.00

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Strong knowledge of data reporting and analysis including financial models, understanding of P&L, balance sheet, cash flow, NPV, IRR, and ROI
  • Equipped to handle responsibility, collaborate, and excel in a fast-paced, small team environment
  • Exceptional analytical, strategic thinking, and organizational talents.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with senior executives to influence corporate financial strategies.
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written) with an emphasis on presenting to executive leadership
  • Ability to direct a diverse workload and team in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail; Strong fact-finding skills
  • Advanced Excel skills; Proficient in PowerPoint and Word; Proficiency in financial reporting systems, Excel, and, ideally, ERP systems and BI tools.
  • Superior communication abilities, with the skill to simplify complex financial data for a variety of audiences.
  • Ability to exercise confidentiality

Experience: 12 years progressive and applicable financial management experience, preferably in Corporate Finance, Strategic Finance or FP&A. 10 years management, supervisory and/or leadership experience

Education: 4 Year/Bachelors Degree and/or equivalent experience/training in Finance, Economics, Math or other quantitative fields. Masters Degree/MBA or other advanced degree preferred

Other: Up to 10% travel
