Sr. Director, Commercial Supply Chain

NewAmsterdam seeks to fill a significant unmet need for a safe, cost-effective, and convenient LDL-lowering therapy as an adjunct to the current standard of care for high-risk cardiovascular disease in patients with high cholesterol. NewAmsterdam is investigating a CETP inhibitor, as the preferred LDL-C lowering therapy to be used as an adjunct to maximally tolerated statin therapy.


The Senior Director, Commercial Supply Chain will be responsible for the supply chain function and help lead the company into its next stage toward the commercialization of our first commercial product, once approved. This position provides strategic and operational leadership and is accountable for NAP’s global commercial supply chain function. This includes managing demand/supply/capacity planning, sourcing, labeling, packaging, inventory management, shipping, import/export, and distribution in preparation for commercial launch. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to growth in a dynamic, fast paced environment. This position reports to the Chief Manufacturing Officer.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with internal functions and external partners to build infrastructure supporting commercialization efforts and establish policies, processes, procedures, and systems (technology) for product launch and scalable commercialization efforts
  • Oversee all aspects of commercial launch supply to ensure a successful commercial launch and reliable, compliant, cost-effective, and on-time supply
  • As a critical interface to the commercial organization, this role is responsible for contract negotiations of commercial supply agreements with strategic manufacturing, packaging, and distribution partners
  • This role will work cross-functionally to establish and oversee NAP's commercial sales and operations planning process (S&OP); Install and optimize supplier relationship management practices with NAP's partners and service providers of its future commercial products; manage the negotiation of contracts broadly across the supply chain with established suppliers, distributors, and vendors
  • Responsible for contract deliverables and obligations for supply chain. Manage vendors in the establishment of processes and systems to support compliance with the DSCSA and product serialization
  • Develop and implement robust supply chain risk management practices to minimize disruption and maintain agreed upon supply
  • Ensure consistent, reliable, and compliant supply of commercial products in accordance with the forecast and inventory requirements, the planning assumptions, and supply budget
  • Establish excellent working relationships with Quality, Commercial, Legal and Finance functions and forge integrated ways of working to efficiently manage and report on the flow of product, information, and cash flow
  • Additional duties may be assigned from time to time


Qualifications:

  • BS/BA in business, science, engineering, or other science related filed, advanced degree preferred
  • 12+ years progressive experience in supply chain, inventory, and/or materials management roles in pharma or biopharma industry; Certifications preferred
  • Established, direct, and hands-on experience in commercial forecasting, planning, and inventory allocation, as well as commercial supply chain/logistics management
  • Commercial launch planning and execution experience in biotech companies strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated hands-on experience in deployment/management of ERP systems and planning tools, with emphasis on Warehouse, Inventory Management, Supply Allocation, and Commercial Forecast Analysis
  • Deep experience in Management and Supply Chain Logistics
  • Expertise in manufacturing and supply chain execution and oversight
  • Ability to create and deploy supply planning tools to support critical commercial demand/forecast data analysis
  • Understand worldwide GxP requirements and quality systems for commercial and clinical products
  • Expertise in commercial supply chain operations and practices, be forward-thinking and demonstrate exceptional attention to detail with the ability to succeed in a fast-paced environment
  • Exceptional interpersonal, negotiation, problem-solving, communication, and analytical skills
  • Must be well-organized, proactive, and detail oriented
  • Excellent written and oral communication, presentation skills, and ability to communicate effectively with executive-level management
  • Proficient knowledge of MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Word)
  • Remote job with occasional travel (Boston MA area preferred)
