Sr. Cost Engineer & VTE
Job Description
Serve as a Finance partner to Operating Staff with timely and relevant reporting and analysis that drives the most informed business decisions. Provide analysis, insights and recommendations that drive profitability, mitigate risks and offer solutions to business problems. Assess and evaluate financial performance of supported business partner with regard to long-term operational goals, budgets and forecasts. Support creation of yearly financial objectives that align with the business partner’s plan for growth and expansion. Prepare and may present monthly financial budgeting reports including monthly profit and loss, forecast vs. budget, and cash flow. Review and ensure application of appropriate internal controls, SOX compliance and financial procedures. Maintain outstanding relationships with business partners. Develop talent / optimize team performance through stretch assignments, leadership exposure, career discussions, feedback, etc. Lead by example displaying GM behaviors, commitment to personal development and dedication to building a positive Workplace of Choice culture. Assist team with understanding the bigger picture and how projects relates to operational strategy / Enterprise goals. Anticipate partner needs (proactive vs. reactive). Assist team in prioritization of workload, paint a picture to influence decision-making, facilitate collaboration across staffs, think through key analysis assumptions. Note, this is a hybrid position whereby the employee will work both from home and from the aforementioned office address. Hence, the employee must live within a reasonable commuting distance of the aforementioned office address. Note, this position requires domestic travel, as needed, up to 5%.
Additional Job Description
Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, and Ten (10) years of experience in the job offered or related cost estimating position. Experience must include: experience with developing and translating automotive process layouts into Core Cost Models (CCM’s); experience with industrial manufacturing processes (materials and methods); experience with material Costing (Mold in Color (MIC), Cut & Sew (Natural and PUR synthetic), Foam in Place (FIP), and Paint); experience with Vendor Tooling (primary tool cost development (injection molds) and secondary costing ( Fixtures, gages, validation equipment, EOAT, assembly nests, assembly cells)); experience with interior product development & timing; experience with Agile Program Management (performing analysis on ambiguous data and defining a clear cost deliverable, translating incomplete data into a robust cost model leveraging industrial engineering experience); experience with comparing supplier estimates vs PPCO estimates for both piece cost & tooling; experience with performing Gap Analysis; experience with developing presentations necessary to communicate analysis; and experience with developing proposals to close gaps in cost estimates to drive programs to financial targets.
