The Senior Associate General Counsel will play a key role in providing legal support and guidance to the organization. Reporting directly to the General Counsel, the Senior Associate General Counsel will be responsible for a wide range of legal operational matters, including but not limited to contracts, regulatory compliance, litigation management, and corporate governance, while establishing and adhering to time-sensitive deadlines.


The ideal candidate resides within a commutable distance to Boca Raton, FL for in-person collaboration 1 day per week, preferred.


Duties:

  • Legal Advisory: Provide timely and practical legal advice to various departments within the organization on a wide range of legal issues, including contracts, employment law, intellectual property, regulatory compliance, and corporate governance.
  • Contract Management: Draft, review, negotiate, and interpret a variety of contracts, including employment agreements, vendor contracts, non-disclosure agreements, and real estate agreements.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Work with Compliance Department to ensure compliant operations and stay abreast of regulatory developments relevant to the organization's operations and ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Litigation Management: Manage and oversee litigation matters involving the organization, including working with external counsel.
  • Corporate Governance: Assist in corporate governance matters, corporate filings, and governance policies and procedures.
  • Risk Management: Identify legal risks and provide proactive advice and solutions to mitigate such risks.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including executives, management, and other departments, to address legal issues and achieve business objectives.


Qualifications:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the bar in the relevant jurisdiction.
  • 8+ years of experience practicing law, with a focus on corporate and commercial law.
  • Experience working in a corporate legal department preferred.
  • Able to hire, train, supervise, manage, and develop lawyers and paralegals.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills
  • Extensive experience with legal research, document drafting, and writing
  • Able to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • The ideal candidate should possess a positive, team-oriented, and collaborative attitude. They should be capable of establishing and maintaining effective working relationships both internally and externally.
