Sr. Analytical Chemist - Plant Chemist

JOB SUMMARY: To develop new synthesis plant processes: Process Development Chemist. Develop

manufacturing processes from R&D through Plant Scale-up Demonstration.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Develop synthesis reactions in labware, and scale through pilot to Plant Scale

2. Develop/Run Process Control and final analysis: Define, Develop, Use

3. Develop/Complete the Corporate Start-Up-Authorization packages for all NC New Products

4. Develop/write procedures for pilot and plant processes

5. Hands on operations on pilot reactor and associated equipment

6. Hands on direction of Plant scale demonstration batches

7. Maintain synthesis lab, lab ware including the glassware and other related equipment

8. Maintain the cleaning of pilot reactor and other related equipment associated with it

9. Coordinate with the plant and other departments

10. Gather necessary raw materials from plant before running reactions in lab and pilot reactor

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. PhD organic chemistry preferred

2. 5-10 years demonstrated proficiency in Plant scale Synthesis process development

3. Prefer industry experience in synthesis of esters and/or surfactants

4. Plant scale-up and pilot experience required

5. Must follow good manufacturing practices at facilities
