Opportunity Overview


In this exciting role, you will be responsible for the company's financial operations, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards. You will play a key role in helping the company achieve its financial goals by preparing and analyzing financial reports, supporting budgeting and forecasting processes, and providing strategic financial insights. Additionally, you will mentor and develop junior accounting staff, driving overall financial effectiveness and supporting business growth.


Responsibilities


  • Ensure business transactions are reported in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles
  • Work closely with team members to assist with the month-end close
  • Assist with the annual audit process including the draft of the financial statements and related notes
  • Research and analyze expense variances for company management
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
  • Support the budgeting process by gathering and analyzing financial data.
  • Coordinate internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and explanations.
  • Assist in preparing and filing tax returns, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Duties as otherwise assigned


Qualifications


  • 5-7 years of progressive accounting experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics or equivalent experience
  • Master’s Degree in Accounting or Business Administration (preferred)
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or equivalent certification (strongly preferred).
  • Experience in public accounting and/or in a corporate accounting role.
  • Proficiency in Accounting Software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle, or other ERP systems).
  • Advanced Excel Skills, including experience with complex spreadsheets, formulas, and financial modeling.
  • Analytical Skills to interpret financial data and provide insights.
  • Attention to Detail to ensure accuracy in financial reporting and compliance.
  • Excellent Communication Skills to effectively collaborate with team members and present financial information.
  • Problem-Solving Skills to address accounting issues and improve processes.
